HilltopAds mobile redirect

Hi

I just found out, that HilltopAds script redirects my mobile traffic. Their script launches a pop-up window (it is okay), but after 2 seconds I am redirected to Apple Store. I can't go back to my website.

I wonder if anyone has the same problem. I tested it on iPhone (Chrome, Safari and FireFox). I can't test it on Android, because I don't have smartphone with Android.

I contacted my account manager (Ace), but he did not answer yet.

I just sent a message to my contact at HilltopAds and see if they can take care of you as soon as possible.

Reno78 06-19-2017 04:01 PM

Thanks CaptainHowdy.

I'm just testing it. It does not happen every time. Sometimes it is okay, but sometimes it redirects me to Apple store.

I am afraid of Google ban.

I like HilltopAds. I tried few ad networks, and they are the best. But this redirection is a big problem.

I'l advise same what i advised on other thread with similar topic, and that is to use your own popunder code to avoid such surprises. If network is not allowing you to use your own popunder code, well then you have no choice but to prepare your anus :1orglaugh

I?m an official HilltopAds representative. Thanks for sharing your concerns!

I have looked into your situation and have discussed your case with our tech team. Basically, and if we understand your post correctly, this is what your visitors see when they get to your site: the pop ad opens in a new tab, then they get transferred to an app Store from that tab, but not from your website. I could understand your worries, but this does not count as ?sneaky? redirect, and shouldn?t lead to a Google penalty.

I do believe that your Personal Manager have been in contact with you about this issue.
Please PM me here or write a reply should you have any more questions. I?ll be glad to help!

Cheers!

I'm just a team-player (dunno for how long though :upsidedow). Glad you got your reply, Reno78.

Reno78 06-20-2017 07:54 AM

Hello,

No, the pop opens in a new tab, and then my domain is transferred to app store. So I have two tabs opened - your pop and the window with app store. And I can't go back to my website.

I already talked to Ace. He is investigaing it now.

Then you better not redirect your mobile traffic or it's just a matter of time. :winkwink:

1. He doesn't do it on purpose :)
2. You can still redirect and not be banned :)

The redirect problem has been resolved.

Unfortunately my CPM dramaticaly dropped in last 14 days. Now it is only $0.4487 and it is getting worse every day. I don't know what happened. HilltopAds was the best ad network.

It seems I have no choice. I will have to replace their script. I'll give them 24 hours to do something about it

Is there someone who uses their script? What is your CPM?

Craft 06-21-2017 04:16 AM

Hilltop knows What they do and the bad redirect you Can sell for more Money but it cost traffic

That drop began before that. About two weeks ago.

I got message from my publisher manager:

"By the way we are experiencing huge CPM drop all in all networks in all GEOs because of google restrictions. If you decide to change the network you are free to go but just keep in mind that it may not change anything at all."

He sent me a new script with all current and new advertiser list. Unfortunately this script doesn't work at all - does not launch any popup window. So now it's even worse.

Reno78 06-21-2017 08:33 AM

The new script is working now.

Please don't get me wrong. HilltopAds is a high quality ad network. The problem with redirect has been resolved very fast. I do not think it was an intention.

Low CPM is a big problem, but we are working on it. At least they are trying to do something about it.

Hello again!

We?re happy to hear that you enjoy working with HilltopAds. Glad to know that Ace has been a great help!

When it comes to your CPM?s, I shall see what I can do. But have you heard of HilltopAds Anti-AdBlock solution? We have recently released it and it can do very wonders for your campaign and add greater revenue. Ask Ace about it. He can help you set it up.

As always, feel free to ping or message us here.

How did you test things like that on global ISP and different Devices?

Hi there!

Yes, we do understand this is an important issue. That?s why we fix it right away should it occur and make Support available 24/7 to provide our partners with best customer care. Advertisers who break network?s rules do exist, unfortunately. But we do our best.

Are you a HilltopAds partner? PM me with details.

Reno78 06-22-2017 05:21 AM

Unfortunately the problem with redirect is back. I had to remove HilltopAds script from my website.

CPM also declined. Today it is only $0.370.

That?s unfortunate to hear.

It?s very important for at HilltopAds to take care of such issues. I forwarded your complaint and details of your HilltopAds account to our Head of Publishers as well as our Tech team. They would like to contact you directly. Is that ok?

Hilltopads was my favorite ad network. I really want to stay with you. You can contact me anytime. I still hope you can fix this.

I had to remove your script from my site due to redirect, but I am ready to test it again.

BTW Ace is good publisher manager, but it is hard to contact him. His ICQ doesn't work, and email is slow. I need to talk to somebody who has time to help me.
