adobe...

man those guys... I had a subscription to acrobat, the pdf writer... if they still call it acrobat... $14.95 a month. thing is the app never would run smoothly for me. I dumped the app and picked up foxit. runs without issue.

I canceled the acrobat subscription, adobe said no. you are getting charged for the year, one month at a time. get over it. I canceled the bank account adobe was tied to in some business restructuring, one month later adobe is on to another bank of account of mine, pulling their $14.95... wtf?

I called adobe, bad connection 20 minutes on hold, blah blah blah... you get it... I called the bank and did a charge back on adobe. got the funds back... :thumbsup

thanks, good to know, all I really do is scan docs to pdf and fill out model releases... adobe couldn't even do that

can you script apps for windows?

Busty2 06-21-2017 08:09 AM

Since Adobe switched to the drip feed system of never ending monthly payments i stopped supporting them. From the first version of Photoshop i diligently paid for upgrades right up until version CS6 extended. Then they started this monthly online access fee. I fucking hate that system so version 6 is as far as i will go

SpicyM 06-21-2017 09:15 AM

I wouldn't pay monthly fee for software. In fact, the only business thing I would be willing to pay monthly would be hosting.

Fuck them, there are alternatives.

Any modern Windows application can do it. E.g.: FastStone Image Viewer - Powerful and Intuitive Photo Viewer, Editor and Batch Converter

1) Click "Ctrl+B" to scan.
2) Click "Ctrl+S" and select "PDF" as output format.

Can it be easier?

If you want to convert your formatted text documents (including images etc) into PDF, use LibreOffice: https://www.libreoffice.org/

Both applications are freeware and there are many other alternatives, of course.

Assuming you kept up to date with upgrades then the monthly fee is cheaper than what it used to cost to buy the program then pay for each upgrade. The draw back of course is if you ever stop paying you no longer have access to the program.

The last non cloud version of CS 5, photoshop $699+ dollars and then new version upgrades are always $200 a pop.. doing $20/month is much, much cheaper.. There is no way you were paying $700 plus $200 upgrade cost and are now complaining at $20/month.. be real you were just downloading cracked versions..

@ $20/month you're paying the same cost as previously for a yearly upgrade with out the $700 buy in..

Regardless, there are also other good options that are cheaper and even some decent free ones.

You are wrong in assuming i am as degenerate as you seem to be, i did pay for the full version 1 and for every upgrade until the last version 6 extended Its the cunts that download cracked versions that caused the switch to the cloud system. As I'm on limited bandwidth internet access the cloud version would cost me a small fortune in overage charges. Don't assume, it makes you out to be an ass.
