On another forum 2-3 billion in profit was mentioned, anybody knows?

No one really knows. My estimation is $1.5 billion.

That's gross sales not pre-tax profits.

the market is still huge for porn. There is always someone willing to spend money. Every year, there will be millions of new credit card users.
And it will never stop in the next decade.

that seems low to me, because a handful of camgirls (LittleRedBunny, Aspen...), are earning above a million per year, so each of them would be 0.1% of the global cam industry?

on top of those elite few you have:
- big & small sites we all know
- regional cam sites, like in Asia, most of us don't know about (fc2.com, ...)
- thousands of studios
- tens of thousands of girls
- skype, Vuier shows
- gifts (amazon, giftrocket...)
- manyvids, ...

all that seems like it would add up more than $1.5 billion, also that would mean that in 4 years cams only grew 50% from the widely quoted 2013 number of a billion

Based on what I see from social commerce, I can certainly see a decline in the current cam business model.

Significantly less than a billion.

There's a handful of people earning 80% of the money and they're always "Selling The Fantasy" in order to keep a steady flow of suckers working for them.

Is there any way possible how to check what a platform ramps up per year in revenue?
( taken into consideration the independent market and the market that avoids payment processors, the exact figures remain unknown, however we can narrow down by adding equations to the formula )

seeing that the companies aren't publicly traded and usually not releasing numbers, it's hard

The is no 'close estimation' for reason of the distributed revenue outside of the organized cam broadcasting websites. e.g.; the numerous skype shows using WU, paypal and other consumer payment processing.
