If you ever get a chance read the book "Please Kill Me". It's the history of NY Punk Rock but goes deep into Velvet Underground and Andy Warhol.

I was introduced to Lour Reed and Laurie Anderson by Peter Gabriel back in the 90's. All 3 were beautiful.
