Russia threatens retaliation if Pentagon bans Kaspersky software

Then it should be banned. What do you think?

"Communications Minister Nikolay Nikiforov served notice on Friday that the Russian government would retaliate against U.S. companies if Congress bans the Pentagon from using controversial cyber-security software from Kaspersky Lab."

"The Russian official dismissed concerns about hidden code in the software that could impact computer network security, saying, ?Foreign software isn?t necessarily about information risks as it undergoes screening and certification procedures.?"

WTF!

Russia threatens retaliation if Pentagon bans controversial Kaspersky Lab cybersecurity software

In an interview with Bloomberg, Nikiforov said that any ?unilateral political sanctions? put in place by the U.S. government would impact American companies that provide ?a huge proportion of American software and hardware solutions in the IT sphere, even in very sensitive areas,? to Russia.

The Russian official dismissed concerns about hidden code in the software that could impact computer network security, saying, ?Foreign software isn?t necessarily about information risks as it undergoes screening and certification procedures.?

The FBI is currently scrutinizing Kaspersky Lab?s anti-virus software based upon fears that the Moscow-based company is run by executives with extensive ties to Russian intelligence and military agencies.

The Senate Armed Services Committee has asked that the Pentagon be banned ?from using software platforms developed by Kaspersky Lab due to reports that the Moscow-based company might be vulnerable to Russian government influence.?

?We are very much concerned about this, very much concerned about the security of our country,? Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said specifically about Kaspersky Lab.

Despite denials from Kaspersky executives that they had any involvement in the alleged hacking of the 2016 presidential election, FBI agents interviewed over a dozen employees of the Russian company in the past week as part of a counterintelligence probe.

The Pentagon uses compiled anti-virus software made in an adversary nation?
If the DoD is that stupid we are in a LOT of trouble.

If they buy the source code, inspect it and then compile it themselves ... That must be what they are doing?

We are in trouble. There's encrypted code in Kaspersky they can be doing anything.

Oh and remember this?

Breaking: Kaspersky Exposes NSA?s Worldwide, Backdoor Hacking of Virtually All Hard-Drive Firmware

So Kaspersky is on government computers, they out the NSA's computer spying techniques, and we still have their fucking software on government computers? FUCK THAT!

Russia threatening retaliation has nothing to do with the media.

Putin's harsh reaction & threat speaks volumes.

It's clear you like Russian cock.

You clearly aren't aware of the status of Trump's multiple Russia investigations here in America, that's all covered in a separate post.

You love Russian dick so much you defend them retaliating against Trump if Trump takes their antivirus off our government computers.

Now we know! You choose Putin over Trump! Your true colors finally show.

Russia did sneak one in on us with the election -- but they need to realize something. The US holds Russia's balls in its hand and can squeeze those balls into a red jelly at any time. We have the cyber means to cripple them along with financial/economic sanctions. They hold no power over us, as long as our bitch-ass president will stop swinging from Putin's nutsack.

and also...why the fuck would anyone trust a Russian based company for their security? That's like asking a fox to guard the henhouse. Never, ever trust a Russian. Never. Collectively as a people they are the slimiest, sneakiest, most crooked bunch of motherfuckers you will find. I have my own personal, empirical evidence on these matters.

But god bless those hot women though.

I've worked with lots of Russians, I've filmed a few for content too, always great people, just like Americans, that's just my experience though and it's Russians outside of Russia living in America or Australia.

I wouldn't trust a big Russian company like Kaspersky because Putin has his hands in every big Russian company and if you don't do his bidding the state takes control of the comoany, and sometimes people get thrown in jail or worse :2 cents:

the only reason Russia hasn't descended into civil war in the last decade in a 1/2 is because the price of oil climbed rapidly for over a decade which pulled them out of debt after the collapse of the Soviet Union and gave them hard currency to play with.

thats over now. so is Russia. its really irrelevant over the long term what they do or think.

This says a lot about professional level of Pentagon employees. Everybody knows that Kaspersky is a spyware which sends its reports directly to FSB. I have mentioned it even here at GFY about 10 years ago. Only idiots would use that shit on their computers. Funny to know that Pentagon was among them :))))))

Evidently is not just the Kaspersky main program but a bunch of subsidiary add-ons of some sort through other programs from other companies. Anyway we agree. I think your posting here years ago is what is in my mind about not using Kaspersky still to this day thanks :thumbsup

I've worked with Russians twice. There wasn't a third time because I'm smarter than that.

And in my neighborhood, guess who causes all of the problems? The two Russian families nearby. One of the homes has Russians coming in and out constantly and it seems like there's 20 people living there. And yes, all of them drive a Benz or a Mercedes, although they don't look like they should have the means to be able to afford those cars. I'm not talking about poor man's Mercedes. I mean top of the line cars. It's perplexing.

It's fucking shady.

And what that pictures doesn't tell you is that Obama told Putin to cut out the hacking at that time. Don't try to characterize any meeting Obama had with Putin as one where he was his bitch. Putin is a crooked fucking criminal, and you probably admire him because you're also a shady Russian piece of shit. You fuckers don't know good from bad.
