India planted 67 million trees in 12hrs

They just broke their previous record of 50 million in 12hrs. India has committed to "re-forestation" with plans to create new forests to the tune of 235 million acres by 2030..

They are spending 6.2 billion dollars to make that goal.

India has planted nearly 66 million trees in 12 hours

Obviously Al Gore must be making loads off this "fake climate change thing" look how he manipulated them Indians into plantn trees! Why would anyone want to plant trees when you can be diggin up coal instead! Dumb lib Indians..

mineistaken 07-02-2017 09:51 AM

Only possible because they don't have republicans in power.

Phoenix 07-02-2017 09:53 AM

hopefully they keep them alive

Bladewire 07-02-2017 09:59 AM

This reminds me of the guy you posted about a few months back (Jadav Payeng) the forest man, but on a greater scale. He's been planting since 1979 and has created a forest from sand.

It's refreshing to see a country leading in environmental preservation :thumbsup

wehateporn 07-02-2017 10:13 AM

just because trees are good doesn't mean Al Gore isn't profiteering from the climate hoax

Good deeds such as this don't exactly move you up the spiritual ladder ...

Barry-xlovecam 07-03-2017 07:51 AM

I did a little reading on reforestation and its relation to solving global warming.

Seems that reforestation is not the cure all for global warming.

If you want to reduce CO2 in the air burn less high carbon fuels -- or kill all of the cows and stop farting.

Paul Markham 07-03-2017 08:01 AM

Very impressive.

...AND plant more trees. Trees and other plants absorb CO2 from the atmosphere. Trees & Plants are why we have CO2 in fossil fuels in the first place.

Who cares about that? Do it for yourself, for people, your offspring and future generations, for animals, for beauty, for clean air and clean water, for food, and for the future, health and well being of our beautiful one and only planet.

DBS.US 07-03-2017 11:45 AM

They need top be planting trees that produce some kind of food.

It not that simple, if you plant the trees in temperate climates they may do just the opposite, including increasing rainfall. I was rather surprised. It seems that deforestation in rain forests are having the greatest negative affects. Reforestation may restore the balance.

Do some reading of genuine scientific studies :2 cents:

I'ts hot & sunny in India. They're doing it to make more shade and lower air conditioning bills in summertime :2 cents:

pimpmaster9000 07-03-2017 05:11 PM

they should plant bamboo it is much better than hardwood...absorbs much more carbon dioxide because of its explosive growth rate and releases like 1/3 more oxygen in to the atmosphere...the roots stay in place after harvest and prevent erosion (a huge problem)...does not need to be replanted...grows up to 3ft/day!!...bamboo is the future...
