A Minneapolis family is demanding answers after a police officer shot and injured their two dogs on Saturday while responding to a security alarm at their house.

Surveillance video that the family shared on Facebook shows an officer walking into the home?s fenced backyard when one of the dogs approaches, wagging its tail but with what appears to be bristled hair along its back.

The police officer involved in the shooting, whom the Minneapolis Police Department has not identified, can be seen taking several steps back with his gun pointed at the approaching dog. The dog pauses and then draws closer, tail wagging.

The officer then opens fire, causing the dog to fall on its back and scramble away. A second dog can be seen running toward the officer before he, too, is shot and sent scurrying.

?He was wagging his tail,? homeowner Jennifer LeMay told the Star Tribune. ?My dog wasn?t even moving, lunging toward him or anything.?

Quite a common occurrence unfortunately. They should have the police trained by UPS drivers how to safely approach an animal without killing it first.

A cop figures that if he's ever going to get a chance to use his firearm on a living thing with no consequences, he may as well take the opportunity to shoot a dog.

Question to the dog lovers. If you were a cop, would your first instinct be to shoot down a dog that's just standing there? Why are they hiring these scared little bitches to be police officers? There should be some kind of test to determine if you're actually a man before you get to carry a loaded gun around the city, dispensing justice.

Let me guess he was in fear of his life. I wonder how the fed ex, ups and postman makes it thru their day without shooting dogs. Its like what the fuck happened to police. When I was a kid, I lived on a street with 6 cop families. These were brave take no shit type of guys who werent scared of their own shadow.

One night at one of the cops houses, he caught a kid breaking into his shed. Smacked the shit out of him and took him to his parents house. Today the kid would of been dead.

Most cops have mental issues and chips on their shoulders aka assholes and pussies.

What makes it worse is that good cops do nothing about the bad ones.

I know cops have to protect themselves, which instinctually any human being wants to do, but they're paid to be in danger and think of the public they serve first. If the first response to every sign of danger is to shoot it, whether that be a dog wagging his tail or a black guy then we need to be able to weed out these types of people from joining the force.

There should be some kind of way to tell if the person going into the academy is a little bitch.
