I heard there were protests this morning in front of the hotel and they were not allowed to open the show floor, and then the government decided to ban it completely?

i dont think so, i'm following them at facebook and didn't see any news about that

I just got confirmation of this from our guys down there.

Activities in the conference center have been cancelled for today.
What will happen tomorrow is still unclear.
Parties will go on as planned.

Some have very expensive equipment in the conference center and they are not allowed to take it out. Besides all the money they spent on sponsorships offcourse.

The organisation did have all permits but the mayor claims they did not after a small feeble protest.
Most people in Cartagena think the protest is ridiculous btw...hypocrites is a word often used.

Unfortunately this should not come as a complete surprise. Several months ago I recall reading on a CO bloggers site, that there was an issue brewing between the local government and the current organizers.

In fact... I just put the pictures from the show up at YNOT Shoot Me and it looks like all things considered it was a great show. Everyone I've talked to about it who went says it was very, very well put together.
