Will the previous version I bought still be supported or updated? It was a one time pay or unlimited domains, this one is 11.95 per domain per month...a bit of a difference.

Version 1.x will still be supported, but not updated.

The monthly billing model allows customers to start using the product at a lower price point.

Lower price? Old version one time $79.95 Now for just one domain $97.95 per year? If I want to upgrade to the new version you are forcing me to pay $499.95 per year now.. I do not see the lower pricing point, sorry. I'm afraid I have to move to https://www.wp-script.com/pricing/

Unfortunately, because of widespread piracy of the plugin of version 1.x, unlimited domains is not an option for version 2. As you can imagine, many people were sharing their copies with friends. I even found some file sharing sites where it was downloaded over 5,000 times. The amount of people who would contact me for support knowing they didn't purchase the software was astounding.

Spending $80-$100 upfront can be a huge leap of faith for many people. Asking only $11.95 to try the software is fairly low-risk for them and it's already proving correct with the new sales. I don't believe it is a lot to ask for $41 per month if you are running 25 websites. The increase in price ensures that excellent support (increased support team) will be provided and new features will be constantly added at a much faster rate (increased development team). Tube Ace has been around for going on 9 years and don't plan on that changing any time soon.

Btw what does "original" users which bought original tube ace license have options now? Since that one does not update anymore.

If the developer passes, who would go after anyone pirating or forking the software?

If you deactivated the Tube Ace plugin, all your imported videos would remain intact in your WP database.
