Google Chrome not recognizing hardware?
Quick question: Anyone notice any weird problems with Google Chrome?
For some reason, GOOGLE CHROME on a friend's PC, Windows 10, up to date etc, stopped recognizing her webcam and mic, and the hardware list is blank. Drivers installed, everything up to date, Chrome plug-ins removed, etc. Other browsers work fine - only Chrome shows no hardware. Even re-installing it didn't fix the issue. Anyone else seen this behaviour? |
Yeah, I am experiencing that, I can't see her webcam or hear her either, no matter what browser I use.
She needs to get that shit fixed dammit. :disgust . |
Is it a USB camera? A lot of people having issues with cans in Windows 10 after the latest Chrome 57 update.
I am not having hardware issues with Chrome at this time. |
Isn't there something similar to about:config where you can fuck with all that shit especially dicking around with flash settings and other garbage
Are the google updater services / startup processes running ? |

It's so strange. Usually I'm good at diagnosing hardware issues like this. Today she even re installed windows and still has the same problem. |
Could it be something to do with blocking Flash by default now?..
Just a guess..... |

I'm not sure - how would I check this? Quote:

It's to do with HTTPS

The problem is most likely the SSL connection. If your webcam app is hosted on SSL and the website you are accessing the webcam from is not, the latest Chrome will not recognize the webcam. Try making the entire website SSL, and it should work.
BTW, hi Mark, remember me :) |
Were you able to get it fixed Mark?
