Trump: Keep our 'beautiful' Confederate monuments

President Trump on Thursday bemoaned the removal of "beautiful" Confederate monuments across the U.S. after last weekend's violent clashes in Charlottesville, Va., where white supremacists rallied against the removal of Robert E. Lee statue. "Sad to see the history and culture of our great country being ripped apart with the removal of our beautiful statues and monuments," Trump wrote on Twitter Thursday morning. "You can't change history, but you can learn from it. Robert E Lee, Stonewall Jackson - who's next, Washington, Jefferson? So foolish!" Trump continued: "Also the beauty that is being taken out of our cities, towns and parks will be greatly missed and never able to be comparably replaced!" article... |
Trump has cast a monument to his stupidity and arrogance.
He seems to be encouraging divisions in America so he can declare martial law. I don't want to be an alarmist ... However ... |
I am not a "trumpster" but I agree with him on this....:2 cents:

Youngsters, the most common vandals, frequently experience low status and boredom. Vandalism enables powerless people to attack those above them, take control and frighten others. Unpunished vandalism can provide relief which reinforces the behaviour. Vandalism by one person can lead to imitation

Big business: against Trump Tech industry: against Trump Congress: against Trump FBI: against Trump (likely at this point) Special council: against Trump The list goes on, not to mention the vast majority of Americans are against Trump. Logistically it's not possible for Trump to initiate marshal law against the will of the people, especially in states like California , New York, etc. not gonna happen. |

I think the "South" and the "Confederate States of America" and the entire notion of the "South Will Rise Again" is nonsense. If you don't to be part of the United States, then leave the United States - don't try to break it up. On the other hand, I don't believe we should be ignoring our past history. Our history, for better or for worse, is our history. Then again, these monuments weren't put up direct after the American Civil War, was it? Wasn't these monuments put up during the Jim Crow era with the soul intention of intimidating blacks? |
