Texas high school builds $72,000,000 football stadium
Single culture communities can afford these luxuries. :thumbsup
A new $72 million high school football stadium is ready for kickoff this season in Katy, Texas. The 12,000 seat Legacy Stadium is the most expensive high school football stadium ever built and will be shared by eight local high schools. The stadium was voted on and paid for by taxpayers in the area, according to NBC News. http://www.ajc.com/sports/take-look-...oKGpHqnCMTiLP/ |
I was conservative Texas was all about tax cuts, fascinating.

Well, I hope they have hurricane insurance.

When you suck at something, you change the shape of the ball and then appropriate the name of the sport...oh how amusing...

ever. Not even going to get into the jobs it created and homes that will be bought because of it. And teachers pay? They make twice as much as 80% of the parents of their students. :helpme |

When you're on to what those nics are doing it's easier to pic up their anti American agenda. |
This is just plain wrong. But nice to see some brought Trump into it.

I hope Harvey will spare this one.

Times have changed. Consider how much revenue and jobs that successful football programs brings into a community. :2 cents: |

Texans take their High School football very seriously.
While the 72 mill might sound like a high number, the stadium will be shared by 8 different High Schools along with an already existing stadium, so I think it was a smart move compared to building 8 different stadiums. Pooling the money and building one great stadium instead of a bunch of little ones. Quote:

What the "waste of resources" people mean to say is the money should have went towards helping certain kids go from an F to a D-.
I think the stadium is a much better idea. No sense in wasting money on those lost causes. |

Obviously the minority racial groups there assimilated into the local culture, keeping things strong. |

The taxpayers understand how economies work and saw that this made sense. But a lot of Americans don't see it that way because they have been programmed by old logic that makes them believe that athletics are for stupid people and it's a useless activity. They think that way even though a shitty boxing match just earned more the the gross domestic product of some smaller countries. http://www.businessinsider.com/floyd...revenue-2015-5 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...y_GDP_(nominal) Quote:
into a modern society where entertainment produces more revenue than factory jobs. A top pro football player's 5 year contract cost more than that football stadium. http://www.nfl.com/photoessays/0ap3000000809063 The irony of the above contract list is that people who say it's ridiculous will then claim that Michael Jackson deserved every dime he made for singing and dancing while grabbing his imaginary balls. :1orglaugh |

This stadium brings opportunity to many people.

Our local high school (My kid's high school) made a lot of changes this summer. This includes more classrooms and also improvements to the stadium. While we we didn't spend millions of dollars, they put in a new football field and paved the walkway around the field. It was dirt earlier and it was just horrible kicking up dust and dirt. I can't wait for the first football game.
