Trump scrapped Obama's flood protection standards days before Hurricane Harvey

Quote:

Donald Trump signed an executive order just days before Hurricane Harvey that scrapped many of the flood protections introduced by Barack Obama.

Harvey has caused huge damage in Texas as 30 inches of rain in less than 48 hours resulted in massive flooding.

The current US President, however, has abolished a number of flood standards in an attempt to get infrastructure projects approved more quickly. The Federal Flood Risk Management Standard is among those to have been rolled back.

Those "protections"were really nothing more than a federal land grab. They bought up shitloads of waterfront property all over my town for pretty much nothing. Property that has had homes on it for 100+ years. The flood here as well as pretty much everywhere else around that time was deliberate. They held back the dams way too long and released all of the water at once. It was crazy. In no time 100+ year floodplains were 3-4ft under water and this is after the rain had stopped. The water came so fast shit was snapping telephone poles miles away from the dams.

Yeah just like he scrapped financial industry standards that would protect us from another financial meltdown :disgust

If that was the case Trump would have been all for it. In fact, he would have been leading the charge.

Why are you posting in all the Trump threads defending Trump and attacking the posters "Martin"?

Are you capable of posting on topic? Or is all you can do is attack people instead of express an informed opinion on current events?

It was the case. There was no real flooding until they opened the dams up all at once. Obama was all for it, that's for sure. So was most of congress. They love spending money and the chance for a land grab is always good to them.

Unfortunately, mostly. I can't get over it. What Trump is doing is terrible, wouldn't you agree? All bullshit and stupid jokes aside, Donald Trump as President of the United States, is a really scary thing.

bronco67 08-30-2017 06:25 AM

Of course he did. Because that's the kind of shit he does.

Martin = yet another fake troll nick. Don't even bother with him.

Btw in his post history he claims he is Canadian. So yet another far right angry Canadian nick..

Wehateporn slipped up a few topics back and exposed himself as Canadian. It was in the Canadian Illegal immigrants topic..

My guess is these are all his fake nicks..

Most Americans disagree. He's been awesome and he's doing a great job. What's not to like? Serious question.

^^ Fake News. There's no evidence of any wrongdoing.

Trump won 83% of US counties. You're saying the person with 17% should've won? The people rejected her.

What did Trump win with? he only got 26% of voters; that's no resounding show of victory; 74% of people who could vote or did not vote did not vote for Trump. That's the real measure of leadership support.
