China recently announcing its ambition to become the global leader in AI research by 2030. Many analysts warn that America is in danger of falling behind, especially as the Trump administration prepares to cut funding for basic science and technology research.

I do not see successful projects with AI in China now.

So now we can have shit AI as well as all the other shit they make.

China doesn't innovate jack shit. They steal to increase their technology and they'll probably steal ideas/tech for their Ai projects also. The only thing they can be a leader in is Jackie Chan movies, and they don't even do that anymore.
