Massive 8.0 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Southern Mexico.

Mexico City (AP) -- A massive earthquake hit off the coast of southern Mexico late Thursday night, causing buildings to sway violently and people to flee into o the streets in panic as far away as the capital city.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake had a magnitude of 8.0 and its epicenter was 165 kilometers (102 miles) west of Tapachula in southern Chiapas state not far from Guatemala. It had a depth of 35 kilometers (22 miles).
The U.S. Tsunami Warning System said hazardous tsunami waves were possible on the Pacific coasts of several Central American countries. Waves were possible within the next three hours for Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, Honduras and Ecuador, it said. There was no tsunami threat for the U.S. West Coast.

Hurricanes, Earthquakes, H-bombs.. it's like in the movies but it is happening in reality.

If you look at any map of Plate Tectonics you will see that the Jaun de Fuca ( not Fucka :1orglaugh) plate joins the Pacific plate which joins the Cocos plate. This forms a fault line all the way from Canada down to the bottom of South America. So it looks to me like this Mexican earthquake fault is possibly linked to the San Andreas fault line and that is well overdue to move :2 cents:

I am in Playa del Carmen since a week. Luckily missed the earthquake in Mexico City. When i return next week i will see what has fallen from the walls.

If Trump was really concerned about illegal immigration from Mexico he would offer US help to Mexico after this massive earthquake. Mexico will need to rebuild a lot of their infrastructure and doing this will create many jobs south of the border -- keeping Mexicans in Mexico. Also, we lose export opportunities in the construction machine manufacturing industry and the construction engineering segment.

But as expected, Trump has said nothing. Mexico was kind enought to offer what assistance they could after Harvey ...
