He said among his last words to her were, "I'll see you in Heaven." "We stayed by her until she took her last breath," Nick DeKlyen said. "It's in God's hands now." Doctors removed Carrie DeKlyen's feeding and breathing tubes on Thursday, a day after she gave birth to her daughter Life Lynn DeKlyen. The mother chose to forgo chemotherapy to treat her brain cancer, since it would have meant ending her pregnancy.

Life Lynn was born prematurely, at 24 weeks and five days into the pregnancy and weighing 1 pound, four ounces (567 grams). Nick DeKlyen said his daughter is doing better than expected in neonatal intensive care, gaining weight and "almost breathing on her own."

"She's going to be fine," he said. "She's going to be here for 4 or 5 months, but we expect her to be a healthy baby. ... The doctor just said the timing (of the birth) couldn't have been more perfect."

The couple, who are from the western Michigan city of Wyoming, have five other kids who range in age from 2 to 18 years old. Nick DeKlyen said the family is strong in its Christian faith. "My wife loves the Lord and she loves her children more than anything," he said Friday.

"It's painful," he added. "But this is what she wanted. She wanted to protect this child." Since Carrie DeKlyen's cancer diagnosis in April, the family has been sharing updates about her and her pregnancy on the Facebook page Cure 4 Carrie . Posted on the page Saturday was a reference to a Bible verse, John 15:13, which reads: "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."

You're saying she was tired of taking care of all those kids and trying to get back at her husband by making him finish the job?

We agree on some things. Stupid and evil woman.

""My wife loves the Lord and she loves her children more than anything," he said Friday."

Seems she loved the lord more than her children. Now she has found out its all bullshit.

wehateporn 09-10-2017 02:22 AM

Chemotherapy kills too, so she would have gone down sooner or later

Oh ouch! We do agree on some things but when you pass you'll see there's no "god" man in a white robe, but you will be fully connected with the universe again. You don't die & go-to nothing Paul, because there is no nothing.

You are born from something & die to something.

Take some time some day and think back to what you were like before you were born.

Damn, now the baby the mother gave her life for is dead.

The father is questioning God, but not his faith.

‘Pro-life’ Michigan dad questions God when infant dies after wife refused cancer treatment

Their bodies aren't even cold yet...

"DeKlyen, who is meeting with film producers next week to discuss his family?s story, shouted out a question to God.

?How can you take them both?? he said.

Life will be buried at her mother?s feet, in the same grave."

Buried at her mother's feet WTF??

Could be but he's a single Dad of 5 kids that just publicly lost their Mother & new baby sister. Seems his focus should be inward not outward but yeah, gotta pay the bills true

I wouldn't say so. A mother in law of my friend was diagnosed with 4th stage cancer (multiple metastases) about 5 years ago. She had a surgery and now she's on chemotherapy (everything that is free in my country) and she still alive and lives almost a normal life - sits with grandchildren and grows vegetables on her dacha, just like all old people do.

Sometimes there is a good story too, often depends on the type of cancer :2 cents:

The uterus has good survival, intestines not so good, especially at the more advanced stages. It's good to hear she is doing well :thumbsup
