Anyone ever deal with Uniregistry?

There is a domain name I want that appears to be owned by a company called Uniregistry. I never heard of them until now but it looks like they're one of the larger domain buyers (squatters?) out there. They don't list asking prices on the landing page for the domains they own, you need to contact them for a price. Before I do this I was wondering if anyone here has experience with them. When you express interest do they come back with some exorbitant price or are they reasonable and easy to work with? Or do they ask you to make an offer and if so, what's a good strategy for negotiating? The domain name I want isn't really that valuable (I think), it just happens to be a word combination that would work well for a site I have in mind.

uniregistry is a registrar, not an owner of domains..

this times a thousand

they're professional negotiators/assholes. They're gonna lie to you, blow smoke up your ass, never stop emailing you. It's infuriating.

sure but his names are listed as owned by nameadmininc. i have domains with uniregistry but i am not shilling. the guy is most likely confused by whois privacy or something.

They'll request 10-100x the price other domain sellers will request.

I consider any domain with them dead.

I got domains for less than 500$ that are 10x better than the ones they have yet they request 75,000$+ for theirs.

They have deals with several registrars to pick domains they want when they're not renewed and they do domain tasting.

They totally suck.

Yeah. They'll also spam the shit out of you.

They do both. They own domainnamesales.com.

i wonder if they sell any of those superoverpriced domains...

Thanks for all the info. I was afraid they would be hard to work with and it looks like that's the case. What sucks is I decided to give NameJet a try to backorder the domain I wanted as it had expired. We went to auction and it was only me and a bot from Uniregistry bidding. I went as high as I felt comfortable but they outbid me. I found out later that this happens to the vast majority of domains people try to get through NameJet so I won't be using them again. And Uniregistry can have the domain I wanted... it isn't even that good of a name so at least my bidding got them to pay more than they probably should have.

Frank has a few hundred thousand domains of his own for sale. The platform is also open to domainers to list their domains as well as I have 400+ listed there as well as my own site, Sedo, Afternic etc... So could be one of their own names or just an individual domainer using their platform to list.

I concur - my experiences with them have not been edifying.

Zeiss 09-20-2017 04:57 AM

They are a registrar but charge extra for premium domains, which sucks balls.

lock 09-20-2017 04:58 AM

The seller remains secret on uniregistry if they wish usually they have already appeared in whois.
