Report about 2015 media coverage in Germany of the migrant crisis: Surprising results.
German media were too uncritical in their coverage of the 2015 refugee crisis, giving Angela Merkel?s open-door policy a free pass and failing to represent the legitimate concerns of ordinary people alarmed by the influx, a new study has found.
The report, commissioned by the Otto Brenner Stiftung in Frankfurt, said the coverage was so one-sided that it ended up deepening the ideological rift in Germany between liberals on the one hand and nationalists and conservatives on the other. newspapers made no attempt to differentiate between rightwing radicals and ordinary people who were left feeling politically insecure or marginalised by the refugee influx. Instead of critical reporting, journalists had merely ?adopted the viewpoint and also the slogans of the political elite?. https://www.ft.com/content/23e02b76-...f-99f383b09ff9 The study, led by Michael Haller, a former senior editor at weekly newspaper Die Zeit, is the most comprehensive analysis of how the German media dealt with the migrant crisis. Suprise surprise! |
And to think todays self proclaimed "resistance" is doing exactly the same: “adopting the viewpoint and also the slogans of the political elite”. Tools and fools of the elite, go shut down some more freedom of speech and burn some more books :thumbsup

politicized media...imagine that :(

Welcome to the losing side.
Europe has profited from the world's economies and from its cheap labor for a long time. America is no different -- political power has been in the hands of Americans of Europeans decent for ages. You do business in the Middle East but don't want to live near their people. Americans do mucho business in Mexico but don't want to live near Mexicans. Bigots will bigot and hypocrites will hypocrite. And fuck you bitchin' about the media -- no one give a fuck. No one with any intelligence accepts all of the viewpoint of any one media -- only stupids -- no shortage of them but then -- who gives a fuck? |

. So i am assuming you are from somewhere other than the nation's being spoken about in this article as well as the one's in your scathing condemnation. Just curuous is all What country do you have citizenship in. I had always thought you were American. However based on your verbiage here it looks like that is not the case. That or you have a severe identity crisis playing out in your mind. |
I'm sure madalton and thommy disagree with this "most comprehensive analysis of how the German media dealt with the migrant crisis." Their intelligence goes beyond a "most comprehensive analysis of how the German media dealt with the migrant crisis."
Their opinions based on this lying media trump the "most comprehensive analysis of how the German media dealt with the migrant crisis." |

And regarding political power, middle east and Africa have always been a mess. Just a dumb liberal would state what you just stated. They run their own countries, they have power but most still fail apart from a few cause of corruption, chaos and undemocratic systems. Not that I praise the democracy we have in Europe today in any way. These countries need to develop by themselves, not escape to Europe for a better financial situation. Europe and USA have pumped money into Africa last centuries, for what? And you want to give more power to those who can't handle power. We all seen what has happened with south Africa since black got power. I always favored aid and relief from our countries but it needs to go to the people in terms of development, jobs. They need to start somewhere, but most of the aid goes to the hands of corrupt politicians. |
My allegiance is to the world.
If you can't see beyond your borders you are a fucking fool. Don't take any income from other countries if you are a nationalist -- drown in your own shit. |

Your unrealistic views of the world are like a child thinking we are all one big happy family... "border control? Let everyone in by the millions, if you are against that you want to be completely isolated from everyone, dont do business with other countries and never go on vacation anymore!!!" Must be very simple to only think in extremes, everything in between is not an option for simpletons like you. :thumbsup |

It's between the top 1% and the rest. Mass migration aids the 1%. And fucks the 50%. With the rest doing no better or a little worse. |

2 examples of the UK immigration 'discussion', which of course means 'questioning unchecked immigration is racist', 'we are a melting pot dammit', and 'it will cost us money if we start to introduce checked immigration' that the left media championed like fuck, and the right media foretold the apocalypse... rather than factual reporting and any old-fashioned 'cause' they may have stood for before $$$ and clicks were the end goal: left wing newspapers: Labour made a 'spectacular mistake' on immigration, admits Jack Straw - Telegraph https://www.theguardian.com/politics...-mistake-poles Tony Blair admits he did not realise how many migrants would come to the UK after EU expandedÂ* right wing paper (a shitrag tbh, and I'm not a lefty), though who knows if the claims in the book are true: Tony Blair biography reveals PM's conspiracy to silence immigration debate* | Daily Mail Online Point being, yes the media 100% deserve any bitching that comes their way... politicians are bad enough, the media is even worse. Who cares if the non 'stupids' don't fall for their shit... the lowest common denominator fucks it up for everyone else, and that's who the media aim for, for both $$ and for thought-sway. |

I used to think that seeing all angles/sides to problems/conflicts/discussions was a 'bad' quality of mine, but as I grow older I'm seeing the 'bad' part is blindly sticking to a black & white view, refusing to acknowledge the other persons' grievances, and spitting out hatred and names rather than just fucking accept that just like we should 'all co-exist because we are all different', we all have differing experiences and thoughts, without being automatically extreme-right or extreme-left. Some days it boggles my mind that so many people just can't put themselves in another person's shoes (including those of eg immigrants who want a better life... fuck, who wouldn't? If I was them I'd be trying like mad to make sure me and my family got somewhere better), other days I remember that we ARE all different, and probably practice more tolerance than the self-proclaimed 'tolerant' do by not doing a thommy and ranting about how anyone who thinks differently to him should die :1orglaugh |

Our country has always been pretty open for immigrants and our country has flourished in this time. Not because of them, with growth there is good and bad, but we weren't deterred by this growth either. |

How has the life changed for a 12 year old girl, out walking, minding her own business and suddenly assaulted and raped by a refugee? Let me guess, these women and girls are just collateral damage from a globalistic perspective...:2 cents: |

https://twitter.com/GuyVerhofstadt/s...14908872294400 Since the open invitation, literally millions of immigrants have come to the EU and turkey. In 2015 and 2016 roughly 1,4 million to the EU (recorded ones that is!! So a lot more in reality) and til now over 3 million alone in turkey, of which a large number will eventually travel further into the EU as well. You're comparing Canada to Europe. Canada doesn't border islamic war zones and other islamic countries full of people abusing the refugee crisis to go to your country for money. When you border countries that share your values, immigration can let a country help flourish. But you are comparing apples and oranges - this migrant crisis is already having the opposite effects, from general tension between a tolerant culture and an intolerant culture in every way, to multiple terror attacks killing people across Europe. How flourishing. :thumbsup |
