Bitcoin taking a beating
 

Damn, the announcement that China will likely be shutting down exchanges has hurt. Bitcoin has lost nearly $1000 in the last 10 days.

I imagine it will rebound. It would just suck if you bought at the peak only to take it in the ass over the next 10 days.

95% of bitcoin trade in the last 2 years went over 3 China exchangers...not looking good...money out of nothing, money in to nothing IRL imo etc

Well I am celebrating. Thought it was never going to drop. Hopefully it will drop another $500-$1000 and I can buy back in.

There was an announcement by several news sources that these shutdowns are in the works. The exchanges are still working as normal and say they have not been told anything, but it looks like there may be something bad coming down the pipe.

So, yes, it is still a rumor, but that rumor caused a roughly 20% crash.
