I've been recently watching some of the newer output of the porn industry.

My first comment is the clarity of image has never been better, the cameras today are doing an awesome job.

Lighting is awesome. Most of the time its spot on and the problems a few years ago with lighting and HD have been solved.

Sound quality is crystal clear.

This applies to most of what's being put out today.

The content of these movies are mostly shit. Fake performances from fake actresses and actors who don't give a fuck and get little enjoyment from their work. They just go through the motions. The set up in Gonzo/Reality is as fake as the girls doing it. I could forgive that if they at least fucked like they meant it.

The biggest problem with most is the titles who shoot the same scene over and over again just changing the girls. And the scenes that are clearly shot in Russia with no dialogue.

There are some exceptions but few and far between. Who produced films where the models need to shower afterwards because they broke into a sweat or girls were having so many orgasms they couldn't speak? It's not that hard to do. Tell actresses that all they have to do to get paid is fuck and really have fun. Or fuck off.

It's no wonder memberships are falling, a months membership would leave most people bored to death with the single-themed scenes repeated over and over again.

You can point out that your movies are different and you do produce real orgasms and great fun.

This goes back to who will pay to have the content made?

I could bankroll some videos and upload them to manyvids or clips4sale. But I know that if the videos are a hit, they will just be uploaded for free.

Two ways to make more money. You can charge more or cut costs. Charging more is no longer an option.

This isn't generally the case. There are many big companies churning out videos that cost a lot to produce. The problem is directors who allow fake performances.

It costs as much for a real performance as a fake one.

I wrote something very similar in another thread recently. I really don't want to watch 30-40% of a scene spent on setting up the fucking, regardless of how good the talent is at acting or how excellent the technical elements are. And I really don't want to see the fucking part of the scene beautifully shot but totally phoned in.

If Paul and I have noticed this trend and are tired of it, probably many other porn aficionados are too.

Paul would you not say that each customer has around 5 - 10 "go to" scenarios (I.e. Milf swallows, milf anal, teen anal, teen audition, GF anal, amateur blowjobs, etc) and no content producer can really address them all? In the old days a consumer would join 6 or 7 sites. Now that just doesn't happen.

Quality costs money. Who can afford to do top notch work?

Twitter compressed the hell out of the clip, but the trailer on our site is original quality with resolution slightly reduced.

This studio we work with only does full length dramas. For this movie they even rented a professional film camera for (I don't recall what model). Studios here still mainly only produce 2+ hour titles with multiple scenes filmed over a day or two so you still get lots of titles that feel connected rather than a bunch of random encounters.

Its over paysites are dead premium channels and clip sites are the nail in the coffin. On the bright side small content owners and models have the ball in their court and can make money without having a paysite. My premium tube channels and clip stores are making more in 1 month than my paysite ever did in a full year. You don't need to shoot a ton of content to make $$$ and be a conglomerate anymore to succeed. I am shooting for clients less and less and shooting for myself more lately there is more money in it. The billing companies will die next models and producers can get setup for $0 now without worrying about VISA setup/web design/maintenance just upload get paid for your content overnight. Why shoot for $700 a day when I am making over $2500 in a couple of months off off just 1 scene.

Can you provide a tiny bit more data? Who pays overnight? What metrics do they use?

I should have said make money overnight. All sites pay monthly. A model hired me to shoot content for her this week that is making 14K a month just on only fans. It it pretty lucrative for girls so they don't feel the need to shoot as much for the big companies anymore. Lots of them are killing it on ManyVids as well.
