North Korea asserts a right to shoot down U.S. bombers

Here comes more threats what do you think? It's obviously going to happen probably sooner than later.

North Korea?s foreign minister on Monday asserted that the pariah state has the right to defend itself by shooting down U.S. planes, even if they are not in the country?s airspace.

Ri Yong Ho, speaking to reporters at a hotel across the street from the United Nations, said President Trump?s comments at the General Assembly last week constituted a declaration of war.

?The whole world should clearly remember it was the U.S. who first declared war on our country,? he said. ?Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to make countermeasures, including the right to shoot down United States strategic bombers even when they are not inside the airspace border of our country.?

Ri?s remarks were the most direct and threatening so far since Trump gave a combative address to the General Assembly last week in which he threatened to ?totally destroy? North Korea.

would the USA shoot down a n/korea bomber flying close to its borders? if the answer is yes, then n.korea has the exact same right...this confuses americans...they are now sitting there wondering how this could be....completely in shock...

crockett 09-25-2017 11:18 AM

If we are flying jets in their air space then yes they have every right to shoot at it.. Most likely the Jets were sent there as attempt to provoke, just like what Russia does all to often..

Notice Russia stopped violating Turkey's air space when Turkey shot one down?

It's same here, we are provoking a response, Trump is playing a dangerous game with lots of people's lives.

While our jets didn't violate NK airspace they did go into the DMZ from what I understand.

They flew them straight at NK fully loaded with weapons and only changed course at the DMZ.. they are totally relying that NK has fully functional and correct radar otherwise its game on..

this is lunacy !

North Korea's missile and nuclear programme - BBC News

Some points:

"but later studies suggested that it could travel as far as 10,000km if fired on a maximising trajectory, allowing it to potentially hit New York." ie anywhere in the USA he wants to hit.

"American military intelligence now believes that North Korea has also now successfully miniaturised a nuclear warhead to fit inside a missile. "

"In 2012 the South Korean government assessed that North Korea could have between 2,500 and 5,000 tons of chemical weapons, potentially one of the largest stockpiles on Earth"

And do note absolutely no mention of NK's Biological weapons.

Yep :thumbsup its way more important for him to be proven right, rather than keep his butt hole of a mouth shut and get on with his fucking job. What an absolute moron. I hope somehow he is removed from office so that someone can undo all this damage. He will go down in history as the most divisive and destructive president in history.

As someone called it a "dog whistle" that's what the NFL thing is.. It's like clock work, everytime Trump has a failure or is having bad press out of his control he dies some stupid to coax the media into talking about that.

The Republican health care bill was going down in flames again which shows how much of an ineffective leader he is , so Trump blew the dog whistle to distract his idiotic base away from his failure..

this picture looks very real.

2 totally distorted brats want to play a bit of war and do not come to the idea the other could mean it serious. the 2 dumbest people in the world with the power of destroy the planet. the world ruled by conspiracy theorists - what a comedy show.

i really can not see a difference between those 2. each one tries to brainwash his citizens (kim is better in that) and each one have no experience with wold diplomacy and no respect from other nations.

if you ask me who should be seated on a missile and shot to the moon i would say: take a bigger missile and send them both.

ilnjscb 09-25-2017 07:58 PM

War is inevitable. I was there, the attitude is very bellicose. It has been coming since 2008. Kim can only stay in power if he keeps the whole nation believing that an outsider is close to attacking them. He has no choice. He fantasizes he can get $500 billion for an agreement and that will allow him to stabilize his government.

Australians at times have changed leaders more than underwear. We vote for a political party, and they can choose/ remove that leader at whim.

Certainly if they got involved in football politics, while 3 million were under threat from a natural disaster and the whole countries fate was under war threat from another, they would be gone in a binky.

I disagree that any president will be able to kiss Kim's ass successfully. Kim is an out and out despot. He does not want to be removed from power. The world either has to ignore his crimes and pay him, or deal with him. There is no other way.

Of course he was going to get us into a war., the SECOND things heated up on the Russian front

stupid as fuck

Deal with him yes, provoke him over social media designed for 12 year olds, NO.

Putting pressure on China for sanctions was good, might of been better to threaten the Chinese with import restrictions until they did, over them just hitting the panic button because the USA has an idiot at the helm. but yeah..

Then it was just a matter of waiting until those sanctions bite, not the very next day turning around and threatening to annihilate the country.

Trump has escalated this to a critical alert stage.

I feel sad for the people of north korea who stood up to being exploited to shit by the capitalism of that time...they truly fought for freedom, like many communist movements at the time...communism was new and nobody had tired it...how sad that they gave so much to fight for freedom from the capitalists only to have the capitalists ruin their lives for the next 6-7 decades with sanctions...

same story with cuba and vietnam...

if you fight for your own freedom, the USA will punish you for it...

NK has the most extensive tunnel networks of any country, vast majority of buildings since the 60's have fall out shelters, civilians are trained for nuclear war from childhood they are more prepared for it than the USA is on a military level.

NK is used to working under satellite watch, every move has been pictured since satellites were invented.

It's not an easy problem to resolve, any conflict at all and I'd be getting out of the USA asap.

"an additional $8.5 billion for the Missile Defense Agency to strengthen homeland, regional and space missile defense."

That's most of it should be thrown at, until there's a missile defence that's 100% accurate.

Good for them -- Saddam's Iraq was so strong too.

Let the rats hide in their burrows and starve.

Australia is in North Korea's target range -- easy -- undisputed.

If Kim attacks anyone it will be Western nations and advanced Asian nations -- guess what YOU are on the list too. Low hanging fruit.

Phoenix 09-26-2017 09:02 AM

Shooting down a bomber won't happen.
Turn off the news.
What a shitshow. Thankfully the new USA fiscal year for the military begins in October. Maybe it will allow for focus to go elsewhere.

Barry-xlovecam 09-26-2017 09:08 AM

In fact, having nuclear weapons MAKES YOU A TARGET.

I'm fully aware we are on the list, hence my concerns, just don't go thinking it would be a easy fete to take on NK when all they have done their whole lives is to prepare for confrontation with the USA.

Trumps got China taking action, he should be playing on that.. not Twitter

Barry-xlovecam 09-26-2017 09:11 AM

We are not evacuating America any time soon because of some Asian nutcase's threats. That is just ludicrous.

Paul Markham 09-26-2017 09:15 AM

Kim is running off his mouth. He knows full well that if he did that it would end up bad for him. The US won't ignore acts or war like the South Korea has been forced to for decades.

pimpmaster9000 09-26-2017 09:22 AM

I cant wait for the day NK starts selling them goodies to other countries...fuck invaders feeling safe, it is time to arm the fuck up and if you can not win at least pull the invaders down with you...waaaaay better than living life bent over :2 cents:

Barry-xlovecam 09-26-2017 09:23 AM

No one is invading North Korea (this week).
Kim wants you to believe his bullshit.
Truth is people in the US could care less about North Korea -- unless threatened.
The Kim dynasty has raped their economy, filled their people with fear and starved them to what end -- total annihilation?

Major stupidity ... but a world wide threat now.
Containment is the only solution -- total containment.

First North Korean missile that causes damage -- that is the end of North Korea.

You don't hear the Russians or the Chinese threating to protect the North Korean madman do you?

No one is going to engage in nuclear retaliation over North Korea -- check ...

How long before Pakistan or North Korea put nuclear material into terrorist hands? Europeans can be smug but they are at great risk too.
