$2.18 Million For THIS House
Location, location, location. Two acres, wooded land, privacy, pool. Just over $2 million in the Hamptons. A steal, right?
https://www.mansionglobal.com/articl...r-2-18-million It's one of the ugliest modern houses I've seen. Looks like a four-unit apartment building. No color, no design, no "regular" windows with sills, just a square box. Plants, trees, flowers, dogs, porch, deck, nothing. Inside isn't much better. Too much white, boring architecture, no hominess, no warmth, no personality. Kitchen is big but cold. Bathrooms aren't shown. No decorating taste, no style, just high taxes for privacy, in a box. |
The lot is probably worth almost that much. Contemporary houses are always slow to sell. Me personally, I would enjoy getting a lot more home where I live for that much!

$550 a sf in the Hampton's is nothing really.

I think it is kind of cool looking. I would love to own a house like that.
|
I hate articles like that which don't list the address. How am I supposed to pull it up on Zillow?!?

The Feng Shui is the pricey part.

I could buy a beachfront four-level home down the road a few miles for that price! I know the land is valuable and they can downsize to one acre and sell. But the house is so cold, so bland and just uninteresting. I think this writer wants a quiet, private place to write with no frills, no yard work, no big upkeep.
It's still ugly as hell. I'd buy it, tear it down, and put up something bigger, more comfy, and include a guest cottage for four. Garage, too Sometimes that site lists addresses. Or, locations of buildings in New York, for example. |
I just read an article about a 1000 sq foot house in Boston for one million dollars. It was ugly. Sometimes houses are just insane.
I work online; I can live where ever I want. Thankfully I am not trying to live in San Francisco. |
Ripp off! You could of got this place in Sydney for 1.3million USD (1.7 Aus )
http://www.baldbastard.com/house.jpg Nocookies | The Australian To buy a house here I doubt you would find anything under a million unless it was more than 100 miles form the city. Area I live in 2mill is average, and that's for a average house, 2 bedroom. Apartments are cheaper buy you still want 1-1.5 mil in your pocket. https://www.domain.com.au/sale/neutral-bay-nsw-2089/ you are blessed in the USA with VERY cheap housing |
That's a steal! I remember a detached garage converted into a studio apartment on main street in EH, right across from the jitney stop (and that place with the really good breakfast sandwiches) going for over $1M.

That's actually a pretty good price for the hamptons.

I only need 20K to get my dream home... :thumbsup

Hamptons is a beautiful place

You should come to Vancouver. 2.4 mil doesn't get you a whole lot here
