Collect Emails On Free Sites?
If you've ever collected emails on your free sites, please if I may ask in your experience:
- Did you find it useful in any one way? - Did you find it convertible in your niche to upsell or return traffic? - Did you wish you had started sooner / not at all? I'm going to do so on a few wordpress sites I think. But it seems the best plugins are non adult friendly. Then when you do find a solution, it's only to collect the email and not send it out. Your thoughts are appreciated. :) Sorry for a real biz thread. :pimp |
Hard to inbox adult with most mailing options and the non-adult options are pretty aggro on banning.
Opt-in newsletters used to be great for us, but not so much now. |
This depends on how you collect them. If they are double opt-in (meaning they have to confirm the email address ownership through clicking the confirmation button in their mailbox) then those are good leads and they could definitely bring in some profit - at least on some PPL products or other free signup sites.
If you'd like to discuss it more, please ping me in skype or by email :) |
Work on a ratio of 1-5,000 getting through. Most are swept up by spam blockers these days.

It's all about information. In this case, you are turning traffic into information. Once you have their email address you can email them as often as you would like (within reason).
We do this at YNOT Mail all day long. Hit me up for details. |

I know what you are facing with WordPress adult sites. At the first moment, it looks easy but deliverability, collecting, double opt in, all that ...very complicated until you find a way. It was worth, definitely. Was facing the same problem as you with WordPress sites. Drop me an email if you need more info about the solution. I am not selling anything just giving a friendly advice :1orglaugh |

I am currently debating the value of this -- i think a limited number of browser alerts would be more effective. B2C
Now! fast and dirty to a currently opt-in audience. Flash sales, live events -- some immediacy and value to the consumer. Not telling every one how great you are in a spammy email they delete or report as spam and filter in gmail LMAO -- that is what most do I think with spammy email. https://s1.postimg.org/1x2d851x27/giphy.gif Immediacy and some value proposition works -- the rest is trash Spam filters and spam policies are a real headache. It really depends on your market targets; Old people read their email, then forward that crap. C2C referred email may be the best referrals ... Old people still have the most disposable income but for porn? Sell penis pills in your emails :1orglaugh Business people , like myself, will subscribe to relevant newsletters, sent by topic specific aggregators or vendors of interest. B2B These can be very high value -- the Nginx newsletter is a good example -- selling enterprise support -- long term added revenue. |
