NRA slams Obama's legalization of bump fire stocks
A lot of blood on the hands of Obama in Vegas. That's for damn well sure....
?The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations,? the NRA and its lobbying arm said in a joint statement. ?Despite the fact that the Obama administration approved the sale of bump fire stocks on at least two occasions, the National Rifle Association is calling on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to immediately review whether these devices comply with federal law,? it said. NRA backs 'bump stock' ban, Trump open to restrictions - Washington Times |

He did ŁNOT legalize them, as you posted ... You are FAke news, A LIAR. |
They were a add-on device and not a firearm themselves and the Obama admin knew that is how the courts would see it.
By themselves, they don't fit the definition of a firearm. The President is only the enforcer of the law. Congress makes the law. But it remains to be seen if we actually get 'A LAW' concerning the bump stocks. And if we do, I wonder what the trade-off will be in the actual legislation. The only reason the NRA is taking the position they have is to be on top of it to control the outcome for they fear much worse legislation for them is possible and likely. It's the cheap and quick option for them and keeps their lobby forces intact. |
It's insane that "bump stocks" was ever legal.
It's also insane that assault rifles are legal too. |

They know after this shooting that they can't hide behind the 2st amendment. So they are trying obvious backroom deal to give something in a high profile way to attempt to claim they are willing to do something.. even if it's meaningless. The best part is they try to blame Obama so dumb fucks like you buy it.. Take away the bump stock and the same attack can happen just as easily.. Hell the guns shown in the pictures didn't even have bump stocks. In fact, it's not even been confirmed he used bumpstock but rather he just had a few guns out of the 40 which had them.. Bumpstock should be illegal, but it's obvious low hanging fruit that republitards & NRA are willing to cave on in order to stop any meaningful gun laws. |

Fucking Joke!

Kids get mowed down in their classrooms and the NRA say the teachers should be armed. A gay nightclub gets hit - its the victims fault for not packing heat. But when the victims are your core supporters, then all of a sudden the NRA want somthing done. In the same week they are trying to legalise silencers. You could not make it up. :( |

So wrong. The Obama stocks allowed him to fire at a high rate before someone came to stop him. He had mere minutes to fire and he maximized that time by using the Obama stocks. Take away the Obama stocks and he is limited to individual pulls of the trigger with his finger. |
But I thought Obama was coming to take everyone's guns? Pick an argument and stick with it.
Obama should have banned belts as well.... |

Well, the congress had (258 -3) days and counting, to have reversed Obama's decision AND ACTED IF THEY THOUGHT IT WAS IMPORTANT. Obviously, no one cared until after the fact.
This is just like a new CP law -- pretty hard to justify a vote against a bump-stock triggers prohibition NOW. Too bad 59 people had to die in a mass murder scenario for this prohibition to happen. Tell it to their families -- regardless of their political persuasion. A very sad irony has occurred in Las Vegas -- indeed ... |
I'm sorry, was there ever an attempt by anyone to out law these before the shooting? Did any of them even know about this before the shooting? I'm guessing no on both.
|
I'm sure it will be simple to go back and find where the NRA was opposed to these things in 2010 when the ATF said they were legal.
|
Lol at Obama stocks. That would be amazing if everyone started calling them that now.
|
The NRA is blaming somebody...that is an impossible level of irony...new level unlocked...high score achieved...

When I was a kid, the NRA did shooting classes and safety classes with rifles. Then they sold us shooting gloves and yellow tinted shooting glasses. Somewhere along the line they changed how we think about firearms - about assault rifles. They tell us that these riles are "semi automatic rifles". Bullshit. A "semi automatic rifle" is a long rifle, the kind you hunt with. An AR15 is an assault rifle. It's an assault rifle that is semi automatic. |

Therefore, it is not an assault rifle. |

The ATF and DOJ made a determination in 2010 that they were not illegal under the current law. They did not negate law or make law. They can't do their job and prosecute a law that does not exist.
Meaning if someone wanted to make a law, they could. But they could not prosecute under existing laws. Since they were not a firearm, they were a part. Much as the parts are made and sold to convert a AR-15 to a fully automatic weapon without some crazy contraption, just replace a part. Who will go after those parts ? Probably will not be covered under any legislation we get. MAKING LAWS IS CONGRESSIONAL WORK ! as per the constitution - read it ! |

This thread is just sad. I'm truly sorry I even made it.
Gun control nuts didn't care about guns when Obama and Dems were in power. You are all domesticated morons. |

Any firearm that's capable of being adapted to function as to fire automatically shouldn't be in hands of the citizens.
|
As a legal matter,
I'm having a hard time understanding the difference in forcing the allowance of a firearm sale to the mentally deranged but a legal citizen, and prohibiting selling beer or cigarettes to a legal citizen 18 - 21 years old who is not mentally deranged. One or both of these is wrong if we are to have equal treatment under the law and it is enforced under the same principles to all people. The point is we do discriminate when it comes to health and safety but not equally. And the federal government has the ability to regulate interstate commerce. So said the Supreme Court. |
VRPdommy are you an American citizen?
Whether you like it or not (many do not) the 2nd Amendment guarantees a citizen's right to posses firearms -- the courts have made lots of precedence of this. There is no constitutional right for ordinary civilians (not in the military (or state militia)) to possess certain weapons that can be used in warfare or mass killings. Congress can legislate reasonable gun control laws that ARE constitutional, Presidents can sign the bills into law, and if constitutional, the courts will uphold the law. That is the way it works -- politics aside. Alcohol and Cigarettes kill a LOT more people than guns do. But in America you can self-destruct legally like everywhere in the world. The age restriction is only an attempt to allow *responsible* adults to use Alcohol and Cigarettes :upsidedow |

Right? that's how it works? No president or any elected official can make changes that a few lunatics, much like yourself, will find workarounds or ways to bend the rules so they can kill many with semi automatics as long as they are readily available. In fact, the only reason bump stocks even exist is the fact they banned fully automatics in the first place. oh and Fat Panda? nobody is buying your bullshit... |
