The NFL will NOT in any way force players to stand. Trump lied

It sucks that Trump and his supporters continually have to lie to try and make their sick racist fantasy a reality. Why you always lie Trumplestiltskins?

https://ca.reuters.com/article/canad...BN1CI24Y-OCASP

The statement released on Wednesday said Goodell invited NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith to the meetings and that the agenda will be a continuation of how to make progress on the important social issues that players have vocalized.

The protests, in a league where African-Americans make up the majority of players, have continued through the current season, with some players kneeling and others standing arm-in-arm in solidarity.

The gesture is intended to call attention to what protesting players see as a pattern of racism in the treatment of African-Americans by U.S. police.

The issue has been exacerbated after U.S. President Donald Trump said last month that players who did not stand during the anthem should be fired.

Lockhart said the discussions will focus on how to use the broad platforms of the NFL, players and clubs to try and make progress on issues of equality, social justice and criminal justice reform.

?These are issues that are important to our clubs, issues that are important to our players, issues that are important to the communities in which we play,? said Lockhart.

?That?s what we are discussing. So for everyone who has speculated over the last few days that somehow there is a proposal that is set for a vote on Tuesday or Wednesday you are speculating.

?Those who are reporting it as fact are reporting it incorrectly.?

I keep hearing about all the Americans that died to protect or provide our rights as Americans.

One of those rights, and maybe one of the most important rights that all those people died for, is the right to non-violently protest against the American government.

The right to stand, sit down or in has been fought for by Americans and supported and recognized again and again by the American courts.

The right to disrespect the flag, anthem, or any other symbol of America has long been protected and separated from attacking the country itself.

Attacking the country is very different from protesting against a policy or symbol of the country.

Two different things.

Drumpf lies about everything. Why should this be any different?

When I was in the military, never once did it enter my mind ever, that I am serving so that some asshole can disrespect the flag that I am serving under or disrespect the Anthem that I stood at attention for and saluted when it was played outdoors. Never once did I ever hear such comments made by anyone that was a subordinate or a superior, on or off the battlefield. I cannot imagine what ever gave anyone the idea that is what people in uniform serve, fight or die for.

pornlaw 10-14-2017 06:55 AM

It wont matter anyway. The broadcast networks will simply stop showing the anthem like they did for the Eagles / Panthers game...

The NFL will support that move. The networks will love it and the players will be protesting to just the ticket holders. They still get to protest just to a much smaller audience.

Its a win-win-win. No one can complain about it.

CBS Does Not Air Anthem Protests But TNF Ratings Nevertheless Slide from Last Week - Breitbart

lol Brietbart. NFL ratings have been going down before that shit. Football isn't as exciting as it once was. I stopped watching after Manning retired, but have started watching again!

Absolutely correct.
But to mute the message that they do not want to hear, they wrap themselves up in the flag that they say they worship, without using those words, and try to make it a subject of a different matter. Then perhaps the issue they do not want to face will go away.

The constitution speaks for everyone equally or for nobody at all.

I should not have to say that in a forum that most make their money from a hated and constitutionally protected industry. Ask Larry Flynt - Go read on those challenges.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

~Martin Niemöller

Your best course of action, if this really offends you, is to stop playing the national anthem at sporting events.
Because the more you try to force your will on others, the larger this will get.

The taking of that knee is a mere reminder that the constitution is not being applied equally and some Americans are dying because of that.
What is it that our troops fought for if not that.

When you watch a game on TV, do you get your fat ass out of your chair and salute the flag at the start of a game?

Since we know you don't, how about shutting the fuck up with your pansy ass fake outrage.

Its right wing fanasty. They live in a delusional world where NFL players are disrespecting soldiers while the president says things like grab women by the pussy and that's completely legit,

Maybe so but those watching the games on network TV wont see it and that demographic wont be logging on to SnapChat to see it... I dont think many white, 40-60 yr old guys will be logging on to social media to see if anyone from their favorite team took a knee or held up a fist. And thats who the NFL, the advertisers and the networks care about.

And once the players understand that the only people seeing their protest are the 50,000-60,000 fans in their seats and not in the bathroom or buying a beer, they will soon stop taking a knee.

Its censorship at its finest...

Yes indeed some people are dying. Criminal elements are dying by the hand of local law enforcement which pleases me to no end. The Federal Government trys to protect citizens from unjustified shootings and has stepped in many, many times and taken operational control of the local police force and or have prosecuted for violation of the victims civil rights. The same thing that they have done, many times with State Operated prisons.

The Constitution is a Federal Document not a local document and the Federal Government attempts to defend the Constitutional rights for all of its citizens. The Flag, the Anthem and the Constitution both are representations of our Federal Government so those that are disrespecting any of the three of them are disrespecting the very Government that is trying to protect its citizens from abuses from local Law Enforcement or any other agency that is abusing its authority.

Thanks for making my point very clear and easy for anyone to see !

Free speech is still free speech even if you don't like it.

I bow no god. Why would I do it for a flag. Because you want it so ?

I thank the founding fathers for being smarter than you.

The symbol of America is in it's deeds.

Paul Markham 10-15-2017 02:40 PM

That's what happens when you make stupid statements. As if the NFL are going to kick off all their players.

Three of the NFL games I watched this weekend didn't televise the Anthem.
The New England vs The Jets was one of them and The Pitts vs KC game was the second.

Believe it or not, many do not give a flying crap of who, what and where what you say is illegal Police violence.
You want to protest, go take a knee in front of the police station that's responsible for doing all the shooting. :2 cents:

Yep kind of ironic that the people who say that you are being offensive if you calmly make your protest against the government, are the same ones who say that they have to be armed to the teeth to protect themselves from the government.

No double standards here.:helpme

I would say probably 90% of the games I have watched don't show the anthem and we only hear about it if something interested happened during it. This was the same even before the kneeling.

Trump supporters are walking contradictions with no moral compass, it's been proven here on a daily basis :2 cents:
