Former White Sox pitcher Daniel Webb dead at 28 after ATV accident

Former Chicago White Sox pitcher Daniel Webb has died after a Nashville-area ATV accident, authorities confirmed Sunday. Webb was just 28.

Webb pitched in parts of four seasons for the White Sox, but was released last November after his 2016 season ended prematurely. He needed Tommy John surgery in June 2016. The rehab time for surgery is 12-18 months, and since Webb was just 28, there was a chance he could have been looking for a job in MLB again next spring.

Instead, he lost his life in what was deemed a "tragic accident" by the Humphreys County sheriff. According to WPSD-TV in Kentucky - where Webb grew up - he suffered head trauma in the accident. Three others people, including Webb's wife, were hospitalized with significant injuries.
