How do you increase your YSlow Speed Score?
The results: Link
You can see yslow score is below average. What do you suggest for us to increase this score? |
What kind of server are you running, is it a dedicated, shared, cloud etc. This would give a better insight and a more helpful answer.

The server is shared. |
It's a paysite? Why don't get a VPS at least? Are you broke? You can't expect any decent speed from that cheap Godaddy shared account :1orglaugh

Mojo seems to be the way. Good Luck

Gtmetrix tells you where the problems are.
Do you really need 16 plugins? Every plugin slows down your site from a few milliseconds to seconds each! |
I ran that test on a site I am "re"developing a back-end and revised responsive front end.
It did on the YSlow part find the 404 on the font directory (that I neglected to put on that server--OOPS!) However, the page loaded in 1.52 sec before I fixed that 404 error(s) and 1.02 sec after (on GTmetrix's test for the record that site is on a small development VPS -- not busy at all now) -- and the fucking thing said that the site was slow -- WTF! Anyway, I haven't cleaned up the CSS not minimized it yet. Most of the content is on a CDN hotlinked I do not control so gzip compression would not matter. That is the thing -- Wordpress is slow code to start with and using a shared server will always be shared resources. Code:
barry@paragon-DS-7:~/$ curl 'http://www.vintagepornbay.com/' >re Your server's response time is slow. maybe 2 or 3 seconds slow possibly the MySQL to load (populate) the wordpress content. I might try getting rid of the necessary plugins and see if that is part of the stall first. "city": "Vancouver", "region": "British Columbia", "country": "CA", "loc": "49.2866,-123.1158", "org": "AS36483 Gossamer Threads Inc.", you are at "region": "Arizona", "country": "US", "loc": "33.6119,-111.8906", "org": "AS26496 GoDaddy.com, LLC", I am near Detroit -- much further away -- but on the same continent. <100ms Well ... <5 sec is D maybe <3 sec B <2 sec A |

So I want to get clearly understand: The problem is server or cms (plugins)? or both of them? So upgrading into vps would increase the speed? Do you think that? Or the only way is decreasing the plugins? |
I would try to optimize the wordpress first, dump the unnecessary plugins then retest.
Then if still unsatisfied try a VPS. Depending on your experience level: managed, self-managed cpanel or go pro with ssh only for the best speed. |

Take off that overlay pop when you load the site (signup) -- see if the hesitation stops?

You should take it off so you know the overhead -- maybe there is some alternative way?
Maybe, the problem is in the loading order? Pounding a square peg into a round hole will get you nowhere. Another thing -- it is trivial to detect GEO- IP and only show that to your UK traffic (or other selected traffic) only. |

PHP Code:
https://www.google.com/search?num=10...ip+detectio n You have to program it. The alternative is to make a .uk domain that has it ONLY. |
I still wonder if it's necessary.
I worked hard moving from a 85 to a 95 result on https://tools.pingdom.com/ It didn't help me getting better ranks on Google. And on one site I've even lost a lot maybe be cause I've made too much changes to get the speed results. |

but they are full of shit IMHO https://s1.postimg.org/7wy9lrua73/gm...k-02112017.jpg LOL 1.0 sec load time :) but my page load speed is bad ?? |

For example, my site loads almost 20MB and loads in 3 seconds. So if you compare data/load time, your site loads slow. |
Whatever, I am quite satisfied and have absolutely no interest in loading 20MB web pages.
I am not video streaming -- that is just a hardware upgrade. Anyway, wordpress is slow as fuck on a shared server like he is using. So, there is only so much he will be do. If a webpage doesn't start loading 1 or 2 seconds many people will leave. So, loading 20MB in 3 seconds would be reasonable but not fast. |
