porn will be banned @ twitter?

what you think? |
I think Twitter is a publicly traded company with the pressures that come with large institutional investors. Porn is an easy target.
Porn is tolerated only under certain restrictions now -- Twitter could ban porn with no, or little, loss of revenue. You know the parable (moral story) of "the Sword of Damocles"? |
seems to me, the new rules are not applying to no porn, but consensual & non consensual porn & tweets.
Making it against regulation to tweet people with porn or putting a stop to unwanted sexual advances. |
In my personal opinion twitter will need to ban porn (and soon) if it is to reach its potential.
|
let's wait and see...
|
I've always been surprised they have been so liberal in their policy to porn.

They tend to allow porn until they get to a certain size, a tipping point, then down comes the ban hammer. I would have thought that point was passed some years ago. |
the more they ban i make more!!! :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

On Friday CEO Jack Dorsey announced plans to act more aggressively. Twitter will introduce new rules around unwanted sexual advances, nonconsensual nudity, hate symbols, violent groups, and tweets that glorify violence, he tweeted.
Huh...is femdom glorifying violence from their perspective? :( |
Word to the wise: Don't invest a lot of time in Twitter or Facebook if the subject is porn.
You are subject to the site's stated at-will policy changes. Smash and grab (traffic) should be your policy as they don't regard your patronage as desirable. You have nothing they want given to the "community." You are little more than a tolerated unwelcome guest. |
It looks like anyone who makes porn will be ok...unless your porn is non-consensual filming of nudity or upskirt.
|
I don't do the Tweeter.

Smile when the man try's to hold you down

Good f^ckin riddance

wondering, why would twitter make a potential without porn, you know most guys go on there because of porn. Some accounts with millions of followers. Yes, POTUS, UK government, political people, comedians, music, but many are linked to the adult porn pics, itīs a big part of twitter, without porn, I believe half the users would go elsewhere :2 cents: |
It was only a matter of time.
|
That's why -- porn is excess baggage for Twitter. Make use of Twitter's traffic while you can but only a fool would build a long-term strategy on a platform they do not have a firm deal with or they do not own outright :2 cents: |
I have read somewhere on the web that they will ban it but let's wait and see what will happen...

Twitter is not an adult industry social network nor any intention to become a porn site. Potential? https://i.imgur.com/hmRuwTa.png Twitter is positioning itself, albeit slowly, to become a combination of those that hold the top spots. I would not be surprised if a single significant feature addition sees twitter take top spot. |
Do they make more money with porn or without porn? They have accountants to answer that question.
|
Overall Twitter traffic isn't as high as other sources, but the quality of it is really good (time on page, pages viewed, bounce rate, etc.) so while spending an immense amount of time on Twitter campaigns could be seen as wasteful given their current climate, it still may be wise to put some effort into promotion there.
What's more, Google does seem to love social media (including Twitter). |

I am guessing that porn only creates traffic that gives Twitter minuscule revenue.
But is is really a policy decision -- will banning porn increase Twitter sagging stock price. Twitter has Twitter, Inc. (TWTR) Institutional Ownership & Holdings - NASDAQ.com TWTR Institutional Ownership 49.82% Compared to Facebook's http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/fb/institutional-holdings Institutional Ownership 71.34% These are investment banks and mutual funds -- where the money is. There are a lot of investors that these funds represent that are large pension fund interests -- corporate America and government pension funds -- were much of this money comes from. Facebook has always had a anti-porn stance -- look at the stock price and the valuation ... |

although, it really does depend where you look through any social network, as the image you showed displays FB top, where I never see anything porn related & itīs genuine family orientation outweighs my interest to show any of my content on FB. Everyone who uses twitter seems to enjoy looking at boobs or bum at some point :2 cents: |
I'm guessing they will not ban porn, but they will restrict all accounts that tweet nude videos/photos to a nsfw mode.
I have a regular twitter account I use for my other business, and I never see any porn from that account. So, it's possible that if you're seeing a lot of porn on twitter, you're just following accounts and interested in subjects related to the industry. Cheers! |
