Just saw Geostorm and WOW is it lame....

Nice VFX, but chalk-full of random meaningless techno-babble and other silliness. The 3D was good though. The end.

Skip it on demand? Only appeal, if any, in the theater to see it in 3D?

Yup, I watched it with my kids yesterday. Predictable crap with nice effects.

You know, I don't know why film makers have to insist on dumbing down every.single.fucking.thing? You know, when the plot tells you someones doing something on a computer, it flashes up in text what they're doing, and announces it audibly.

Remember when harry Potter put on his father's cloak? Ron said "You know what that is? Its an invisibility cloak!". No shit, sherlock!

The 3D was really good. It was shot in 2D and up-converted which except for the movie Gravity, usually looks boring and muted. In this one though, its much better than usual. I kept noticing the 3D - the images didn't just stick out, but also had lots of depth.

Let's see: Good 3D, Good VFX, Good Sound. Bad story, dumb dialog, corny ending.

Me too! I am pissed that Geostorm replaced Bladerunner in IMAX. I suspect that the near 3- hour runtime had something to do with the decision.

I saw a reviewer on YouTube who said just blow a hair dryer in your face instead.

I just got home from seeing it.

The second worst movie I've ever seen (the worst was Mary Reilly back in the 90s, which I walked out on).

Geostorm is so bad that they fucking acknowledge it in the final scene. I couldn't believe that.
