What can you tell me GOOD OR BADD about Host Gator 'ClOUD' Hosting

What can you tell me GOOD OR BAD about Host Gator 'Cloud' Hosting

I am thinking about making a move of my backup servers and if it is good enough, I will make it my primary host and possibly consolidate many hosts.
I am getting tired of each host with 'issues'. It becomes to much to manage overall. Time is money.

So I would like to hear the bad junk on actual experiences with the 'hosting quality' of services provided.

If you just want to smear them without telling me the story of what they did to you, I could care less.

But I also would like to hear where you might think they excel because the best problem is the one that never happens. So sometimes it is how you best utilize the services.

I haven't used their cloud storage but have been with them nearly a year without issue. Their live support is very good and they've always been able to help, even when it hasn't been a server issue.

i've heard of a lot of people having issues with "Host Gator" Period. I'd move services to namesilo or something a bit more realiable.

HostGator are webserver hosts -- not registrars.

Cheap but no root access -- Cloud 'shared' hosting

I would suggest avoiding any EIG owned sites.

If you need a place for your backups - why choose HostGator?

I must say that "unlimited" disk space and bandwidth sounds nice but that's just an overselling term they use. It's not unlimited.

Anyway, if you're looking into reliable backup solution check the Amazon S3 or DigitalOcean spaces...

There are many similar solutions (Google Cloud Storage, Microsoft Azure Storage...) and with these you only pay for what you use. Prices are cheap and many will give you one or two months for free.

@VRDommy

If you need 'unlimited' etc webhosting for your porn sites, I would stay away from HostGator.

Earlier this year they blocked all of my sites hosted with them with the reason that I was using up too much 'cpu' resources.

'Unlimited bandwidth' doesn't mean a thing when hosting companies can ban you without warning on a whim like that.

When I asked them what I could do to reduce resources and get my sites back online they gave me a big list of all the ways wordpress sites hog resources. I had WP3 Cache etc installed on every one of my sites, none of which attracted much traffic or used bandwidth. I moved 2/3 of my sites to another host and still they claimed I was using too many resources. A couple of months ago I contacted support and asked for my account to be cancelled but it is still live and they are still planning to bill me I presume despite two further requests to cancel my useless account with them.

Hosting all or most of your sites with one company is always a huge risk. Actually I'd enjoyed no problems with them for years before this.

Thanks for reply's...
So if you have actually used Gator's 'cloud hosting', I want to know what did not work for you, or work very well.
I'm not looking for advice, sorry.

Host gator shouldn't even be used for websites that you don't care about. Worst host I have ever used, EVER.

Go with Mojohost :thumbsup
