Shopify said I'm too high risk to use "shopify payments"

I haven't even completed the setup, yet. I imported a few eBay items for electronics mostly and I associated the new shopify account with a new dom I regged. I'm high risk already, what, to who?
Electronics and hardware is high risk, now? Say what?!
Meanwhile if I can't find a processor which doesn't suck I'll just set up an old school website and take payments via PayPal for now, I suppose. But that ain't going to look too whippy

Hello,

Wade here from the Shopify Risk Operations team.

During a standard review of your account, your business has been identified as presenting a level of risk for customer disputes that we will be unable to support with Shopify Payments.

We will transfer your existing payments to you, but unfortunately, will be unable to accept any additional payments on your behalf from Shopify Payments.

You can continue to use Shopify to power your business, but you will need to change to a different payment gateway in order to process payments for the products/services you currently offer. You can view a step by step guide to see how to change payment gateways at this link, and the complete list of your other options that fully integrate with Shopify here.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has on your business and are happy to assist you with this process. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don?t hesitate to reply directly to this email. I will be your best point of contact moving forward as our Guru Support Team cannot directly assist with this matter.

Regards,
Wade

Also I think that if you want to power my business you might want to be a BIT more on board a BIT more on my page with me than THAT..
That's like saying please keep stopping by my place but you have to walk to the corner store when you have to piss

Is this your first interaction with credit card processors?

Aww, isn't that cute!

Electronics are high risk. Few will want to do business with you as a new client. Welcome to earth.

yeah shopify will cut you very fast for any small amount of risk

TisMe 11-07-2017 10:13 AM

Electronics are a high risk for fraud and a brand new domain doesn't help.

Right just like my site my rules
If they don't want to process for me why would I subscribe to their service or put them on MY site too though

MrMaxwell 11-10-2017 01:21 AM

Well anyway something like this is why I registered my domain myself. I didn't want them to have any control whatever at all. Meanwhile I fucked myself because the doofuses at godaddy don't let you set up a simple e mail account for domains now. 2017 is when everything is worse than it was in the old days that's for sure.

The Porn Nerd 11-10-2017 08:19 AM

Don't sell e-dildos and vibraters then man. LOL

Kidding. Shopify is notorious for their rules. I dropped them a couple years ago. Good luck. :)

MrMaxwell 11-16-2017 03:35 AM

I never have been good with rules
