MLB Pitcher Roy Halladay Dies In Plane Crash
Former Major League baseball player and future Hall Of Famer Roy Halladay died in a small plane crash in the Gulf Of Mexico today. He was 40 years old.
Halladay was the only passenger on this small plane. Terribly sad but when will people stop flying these small engine planes? Madness. R.I.P. Roy Halladay! |
RIP
really too early to die... |
no matter how much $ you have or how old you are, you never know..

Halladay was awesome, not just as a pitcher, he was a classy guy.

He was old school when it came to pitching, too. Complete games, total domination. Sad, sad story. |
I watched him his whole career and it is a shame to see him go like this. he was always a hard thrower, but he got hit around a bit when he first got called up when he was a kid. they sent him back down for the year his second year in and he came back with a collection of fastballs. Nothing was straight. 2 seamers, cutters, sinkers. Used to drive the hitters crazy because not only could they not guess what was coming they couldn't line it up. One of the first around to throw an arsenal of moving fastballs that often, now they all do it. Harder on the arm but to this day hard to hit.
He worked really hard not only teaching minor league players but with kids as well. Seems like all his spare time was spent giving back to the game that gave him everything. Sad to see someone lose it all just at the start of his retirement. |

I have no data to support this (of course) but it seems to me that pilots who own and fly these small planes try to not crash them until the very last second instead of bailing and parachuting to safety. No one wants to lose a 400K plane or however much they cost but these are milionaires who can afford it. Jump Roy jump!! (Too soon?) |
Sad news indeed.RIP Roy Halladay

Great pitcher. Those small planes are not for me.
RIP Roy. It was a pleasure to watch you all those years. |
Sad news. RIP sir! :(
