I think this is a sign, but I wouldn't say Republicans are "shaking in their boots". Democrats are gloating a bit, and of course there is some concern on the Republican side. The Republicans are concerned that by pairing up with Trump it will be bad for them.

Some democrats won positions in blue states that have no influence at the national level.

So don't cheer too loud.
