halal food have the same history as most religious "laws" it was a way to teach people things what you can not teach them without a god behind.

why do muslims and jews not eat pork?

because the muslim religion came from the jewish and the reason why they don´t eat pork was that pork meat spoils faster in hot countries than other meat.
a lot of people died on bacterias because they was eating this spoiled meat.

the same happens with animals what get killed and the blood is not out. this meat leads to fast infections when it is not cooled.
