When I was in the Navy, I painted my Nissan Sentra at a Pearl Harbor paint booth. It was my first time and it did not go well.

The United States knew an attack was coming, but not where. In hindsight we all say it obviously was Hawaii, but in the early 1940s no one knew where Hawaii was. Hawaii wasn't a US state then or even a tourist destination. It was a military outpost for the US Navy, and not much more.

At least you didn't try to paint a Mitsubishi (manufacturer of WW II Japanese Zeroes used in kamikaze attacks on Pearl Harbor) car.
