Get a new telephone! APPL vs DROID

I put off buying a new telephone because I'm still being kind of hard on myself even though I'm finally back to making some money.. my advice is, get you a good telephone. I was using a J3 and it was slow and made me mad and the resolution was terrible. So I got back onto a Note telephone and life is much better. Business especially.

Also remember to never use APPL products
Get you an Android based device, that's for sure

MrMaxwell 12-15-2017 02:49 AM

Another thing is, always buy a Samsung telephone

XMaster 12-15-2017 02:51 AM

Samsung S8 is a solid choice.
Then Huawei mate 10 pro :)

AlexTmz 12-15-2017 02:55 AM

me too, want change iphone to note 8

MrMaxwell 12-15-2017 03:01 AM

Huawei is the Hyundai of telephones apparently
I just got a Note5 it's plenty for me it has a fast quad core plus a second quad core
The secondary cpu is a more powerful version of the
whole j3 cpu so I'm fine
This was a good deal for $80, too

CurrentlySober 12-15-2017 03:07 AM

I totally agree with you for a change aside from the don't use apple part. Samsung Galaxies are GREAT phones, however Apple certainly have a place - Even if that place is not going to be in your pocket :thumbsup

GFED 12-15-2017 03:08 AM

I just picked up a Moto Z2 Force last week. It's only $375 at T-Mobile.

MrMaxwell 12-15-2017 12:14 PM

I use to use Motorola telephones
They were nice phones
But I fell in love forever with Samsung and their displays and their note series

Rochard 12-15-2017 12:18 PM

It seems Samsung is the way to go these days... Everyone has one.

That's for sure

I have a pixel 2XL, and it doesn't have as many of the issues as people have complained about, but there is definitely a problem with dead spots when trying to scroll. And it's not like every 10th thumb swipe...it's more like every 2nd swipe. Hopefully they fix that with a software update.

Highly recommend the Google Fi service. Been on it a couple of years and it's been great not paying Verizon hundreds a month. My bill for 2 phones is about 70 bucks.

shake 12-15-2017 03:08 PM

Love my Galaxy s7, but iphones are good too. They both have their place.

LOL, No. I had an iPhone and frankly, it was horrible.

I was in the Apple store with my kid the other day. My kid constantly has storage problems on the iPhone. Apple Geek Kid laughed at my Samsung, and asked if I have to store my pictures and contacts on my sim card. I laughed out loud at him. I explained to him that all of my photos and videos are automatically uploaded online. Likewise, my contacts are also stored on line - they have been for some time now. I can destroy my phone, walk into the store, get a new one, and they restore all of my contacts and apps onto the new phone before I walk out of the store.

The iPhone has one of the highest rated customer satisfaction ratings in the market and over a 90% retention rate. Clueless as usual.

Because Apple fanboys are fanatic, and they honestly don't know better. They are happy with whatever Apple gives them, not understanding there is a choice.

My kid has used apple products for the past ten years. Do you know how many cracked iPhone screens we've had? Dozens. Do you know how many other cracked screens we've had? NOT ONE.

All of the phones do the same exact shit. Same exact shit. The difference is... An Apple person will only use Apple stuff. My kid, for example, uses Apple Music. Me... I've tried them all, including Apple Music, and settled on the one I liked best.

Apple people take what is given them and use that, and don't understand there are other better choices. It's not only the hardware, it's the software. An apple person will use Apple Music and Sarfari. Everyone uses what works best for them.

You can get a super decent huawei for 200 buckaroos or so. No need to overpay for something like galaxy s8 which cost 4 TIMES more...

200 bucks for basic user is the sweet spot (I personally rock cubot r9 which was 69 euros so I am being generous with 200 money units).

Xiaomi Mi A1 - this one is clean android. More than enough for 99% of users.

Don't overpay 4 times, buy smart! Not based on advertising brainwashing.

You'd better have at that price.

Smart buyer will buy new TV, new laptop, new fridge and new phone for the price of apple x.

iPads are the genius apple product.

Samsung is the phone.

:2 cents: Samsung is overpriced and I don't understand why those new phones don't have a stronger battery

torn really between iOS and Android. I have a G6+ and it's beautiful and awesome in so many ways. The problem is the insecurity of android. Sure you can negate most of it not being an idiot but the fact the DOJ has 7700 phones they can't access no matter how hard they try are ALL iphones makes one wonder. Why are android systems so insecure even with encryption enabled? Also I don't like Google up in every single thing I do on my phone. Apple has a much better track record with privacy and security. Don't say they don't because they do......the big cases where they will not open locked phones. Android File based encryption sucks. FDE sucks because you have to completely power down the phone for protection and it still sucks. Maybe next year when they get the secure enclave in the snapdragon 845 they will finally be on par with iOS security.

As for freedom of use, yeah for sure android is way better. Much more immersive experience and you can do what you want. I guess it's just a matter of what you want really. More freedom to mess around and get features that could make you happy but sacrifice the security or the apple way. No real winner there, just a different way of how people view their phones. Is it just a tool that you don't keep important stuff on, or is it a computer that you keep VERY sensitive info on or don't want to be tracked. All up to the person I guess.

I don't overpay
If you think I ever have overpaid for anything you were thinking about someone else any time that happens
I got this for $80
It's not the latest thing with the Note8 but it's a Note 5 and that's more than enough for me over here

It has four fast processing cores in there and four extra ones to back that up
I don't see who needs more for what why

Plus I never saw any telephone I liked the display better than the Samsung AMOLED screens for not hurting my eyes and for picture quality

The only garbagey thing about this is I cannot add in a micro SD card and this is only 32gb
For 80 dollars I'll live
I can dump files over to my desktop with AirDroid or wires any time anyway so no big deal I suppose

Me overpaying for something won't happen

You could probably buy a residential property here for what that costs
If I hit the number and then also inherited a whole country I STILL wouldn't buy an appl device myself

That's an interesting point you make there.
I don't need to hide any of my data as I don't do anything which would be interesting to anyone so it's not a huge major concern for me.

Yeah I get sick of people arguing which is 'better'. Neither.....just depends on how you use your phone LOL.

The security issue will be much solved with A Oreo and the snapdragon 845 that is basically cloning the A chips with secure enclave (they call it secure processing unit), encrypted RAM etc.......so by next year I think they will be totally equal in terms of security if they can mandate all apps to use SSL/TLS as apple does. Then Android is the big winner if they can get all that in there soon. I mean 821 in my G6 vs 835 I can't tell anymore any speed difference they are all fast for what average user needs.

how is the camera on the pixel 2xl? I know a girl that went from an S7 to pixel and her snap chat pics look like shit compared to her S7. She loves the phone but hates the camera.

Axeman 12-20-2017 11:39 PM

Apple admitted they purposely slow down legacy phones to make people buy a new one... I can't support that bullshit. If you can't win me over with features and price, then fuck you.

I said that I don't overpay
And that I didn't over pay for this used telephone
Someone else said Samsung retail prices are too high

Agreed
If apple became coherent / better tomorrow I'd be more than willing to get one
Horses don't fly when pigs are ugly though so it won't happen
But if it did I would
It's just like those Ford vs Chevy doofuses
If I need a truck I want it the fuck to run and drive over things and pull down things and make noise .. the badge on there who cares

Well I don't need a truck for any truck things now so I'd buy a Ford based on I like the interiors in those
