Pentagon Never Admitted Having Secret UFO Program. Until Now
WASHINGTON - In the $600 billion annual Defense Department budgets, the $22 million spent on the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program was almost impossible to find.
Which was how the Pentagon wanted it. For years, the program investigated reports of unidentified flying objects, according to Defense Department officials, interviews with program participants and records obtained by The New York Times. It was run by a military intelligence official, Luis Elizondo, on the fifth floor of the Pentagon's C Ring, deep within the building's maze. The Defense Department has never before acknowledged the existence of the program, which it says it shut down in 2012. But its backers say that, while the Pentagon ended funding for the effort at that time, the program remains in existence. For the past five years, they say, officials with the program have continued to investigate episodes brought to them by service members, while also carrying out their other Defense Department duties. The shadowy program - parts of it remain classified - began in 2007, and initially it was largely funded at the request of Harry Reid, the Nevada Democrat who was the Senate majority leader at the time and who has long had an interest in space phenomena. Most of the money went to an aerospace research company run by a billionaire entrepreneur and longtime friend of Mr. Reid's, Robert Bigelow, who is currently working with NASA to produce expandable craft for humans to use in space. On CBS's "60 Minutes" in May, Mr. Bigelow said he was "absolutely convinced" that aliens exist and that U.F.O.s have visited Earth article... |

If you followed Tom on Twitter you found out that just getting this was difficult, there's a war in DC between the pro and anti disclosure. Grant Cameron made a nice update last night about all this: |
if you stop and look you may see the craft. who the hell knows they may look like people. they may live here. maybe the crafts are used to go home.

The total population was estimated at 293 million in 1991. According to a 1990 estimate, the majority were Russians (50.78%), followed by Ukrainians (15.45%) and Uzbeks (5.84%). Soviet Union: Russian Federation Ukraine Belarus Armenia Azerbaijan Estonia Georgia Kazakhstan Kyrgyzstan Latvia Lithuania Moldova Tajikistan Turkmenistan Uzbekistan The Soviet Union, its allies, and its satellite states The USSR is seen in red, while states in light pink were satellites. Yugoslavia, a communist state that was a Soviet ally until 1948, is marked in purple. Albania, a communist state which ceased being allied to the Soviet Union in the '60s after the Sino-Soviet split, is marked in orange. These countries were the closest allies of the Soviet Union. They were members of the Comecon, a Soviet-led economic community founded in 1949. In addition, the ones located in Eastern Europe were also members of the Warsaw Pact. They were sometimes called the Eastern bloc in English and were widely viewed as Soviet satellite states. After Chinese intervention in the Korean War in 1950, North Korea remained a Soviet ally, but used the Juche ideology to balance Chinese and Soviet influence. Following the withdrawal of Chinese troops in 1958, North Korea pursued a highly isolationist foreign policy. It did not join the Comecon or any other international organization of communist states. http://s017.radikal.ru/i424/1712/97/ed0083a41cc7.png |
