Realistically, Have I missed the boat on crypto?

Hi All,

I have a bit of expendable income, that I was planning to put in ETH. However, looking at the charts, its already gone up a hell of a lot in the past year.. Have I missed out? I don't know whether myself and everyone else is following bitcoin hype now and never a good thing

TheDynasty 12-19-2017 11:17 AM

no buy litecoin ethereum and bitcoin right now before you miss the boat!

Right, and next year at this time when it's tripled you will be saying the same thing.

Spend what you are willing to lose. Keep an eye on it. If it starts to tank try to sell.

Have luck!

Not even close. Still at very early stages...

Best-In-BC 12-19-2017 12:48 PM

Where do you guys buy coins ?

crockett 12-19-2017 01:01 PM

Do you still have to jump through hoops as an American to buy these things? I remember when I first looked at bitcoin it was very hard to buy them and then cash out as an American. Have they fixed that issue?

Bladewire 12-19-2017 01:32 PM

FileCoin

I've posted this a couple of times in the past 2 weeks. Americans can buy BTC, ETH and LTC on Coinbase. Click to earn a $10 (in BTC) bonus. https://www.coinbase.com/join/569d36c9dca944488d000409

For the first few buys, I had a $100 weekly max using my Credit Card. After a couple of buys, it is now $750. ACH/Direct Deposit bank accounts is like $10,000 max.

NickBaer 12-19-2017 01:46 PM

You will need to go through the KYC (Know Your Customer) identity verification thing. I used Passport and Bank Account.

The QR code to the left is one of my CoinBase Wallets.

The Chicago Commodity Board added BitCoin Futures on Monday. There's been some profit-taking the past couple of days since. Some drops, then back up again.

Can I scan your Avatar and get me some free Bitcoin? :D

NickBaer 12-19-2017 03:54 PM

Also, there are BitCoin ATMs in many locations. Maps.google.com has most of them.

You get a "Paper Wallet" that looks like the cash-out slip from a casino slot machine. For BitCoin, you can set up a Mycelium Wallet on your Android device, and transfer the Paper Wallet to your Mycelium digital wallet. Or hold the Paper Wallet, until you wish to go (back) to a BitCOin ATM and Sell some or all.

People saying that it will 3x, 4x, 100x next year are the reason why I'm skipping coins altogether. Its pure speculation on a brand new technology.

I'd rather place my extra money in an ETF and get a 8% return than a supposed 3x,4x,100x return on a super high risk, unknown technology.

If I do invest in coins, it'll be much later, when I fully understand how it works and how the whole coin industry works and a way for me to generate a secure profit.

So, yeah, I'm an investor, not a speculator.

Now, if you don't mind me, I have businesses that I need to attend to.

Oh yeah, good luck to all though who did buy into coins.

Very easy.

Create account. Add checking account or credit card. Set up buy. Add recurring if you wish.

Takes no longer than signing up to Amazon and linking your credit card.

I was using coinbase, but I've switch to QuadrigaCX, they are based in Vancouver.

Much easier to get approved to go beyond the $250 limits like Coinbase has.

Buy TRX. As soon as the stanglehold whoever is putting on the price right now releases it's grip it's shooting to, around and back from the fucking moon. It will be like SpaceX of crypto.. lol

Brand new? :error

I remember when the internet was still "brand new" after it had been commercially available for 4 years and people were saying it's just a fad, it wont last.

Now that bitcoin has been around for almost 9 years, people say it's brand new, it's a bubble, it's pure speculation, it's a ponzi, etc. I've heard everything. And it's all from people that didn't spend a half hour educating themselves about it. They'd rather just spout their ignorance and point at it and say oh that's bad... stay away.

Kind of like what old people do with everything.
