Finally went to see Star wars last night
 

Meh!!

I fell asleep for maybe 10mins or so during it. Found parts of it just not interesting and the characters well, some just seemed to have parts when they didn't really need to be there.

I always go see Star Wars films in the cinemas twice but I won't bother with this one. It kinda felt at times like we were going back to the crazy George Lucas prequels stage where it just looks too, well not as good as Rogue One and probably Force Awakens. Too much crazy cgi shit going on at once.

It's not that it's a bad movie, i just feel it lost its way again after coming back in decent style with this the last 2 movies after the horrific prequals. (Potential spolier: the Leia not dying part, c'mon?)

Luke being a cunt for half the film kinda made it suck too. Who the hell thought that was a smart idea for a script ?


Anyway. 7/10 at most and that's coming from a huge Star Wars fan... :2 cents::2 cents:

Not one real light saber fight; no Jedi training; no back story on Snoke - just another throw away character; Rey's parental secret was a bust; whole side story of Fin and Rose was a pointless failure; all men are toxic and impulsive; all women are strategic and wise; Luke milks a space cow's tit and chugs it down; dark force hole on island reveals nothing; Leia flies through space like Peter Pan; Admiral Akbar has a throw away death; Luke offs himself; Porgs . . . I could go on.

The Fin and Rose story was just weird and out of place. If was as if they were looking for some sort of story to include them in the film. This failed. Nobody gave a shit.


The Leia thing was just, idiotic to be honest...

he didn't disparage the movie at all. He was just stating facts about the arc of his character. Just like a conservative to skew something to fit his viewpoint and take something out of context. Fuck you and the cunt that birthed you.

This was the BEST star wars of them all, aside from Return of the Jedi. I was surprised after the past two were duds imo.

As for the OPs review, good to know. TBF, the only reviews I have read so far are from total fanboys gushing over it as if its the second coming of christ.

Besides the first three most have been shit... besides Force Awakens.

I said meh also until about 2/3 into it, then it really started to get interesting to me.

The Last Jedi story is an utter fucking mess that seems to actively try to ruin the trilogy by killing off everybody important before anything can actually happen. Half the shit that happens doesn't make sense and the other half affected nothing. It's a badly edited clusterfuck of scenes blatantly stolen from ESB and ROFJ.

The biggest hero in the franchise, Luke Skywalker, gets to do nothing and dies like a bitch.

Rey is an obnoxious character and I wish she died.

Only good thing about the movie is that it's visually pretty and you don't get points for that in 2017, being visually pretty is fucking required these days. You don't get credit for meeting the minimum requirement for your budget.

TLJ is such a bad movie that I honestly wonder how could they possibly have a sequel after this. I see no way for them to write a good movie with the few characters and (lack of) plot lines they have left.

The entire movie was the Rebels escaping. Gee, how exciting.

Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia are all dead now. Great! So let's see a movie with....Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2D2 (who had almost NO role in this film at all). Gee that will be fun, won't it? Wondering what happens to Rey, Po, Fin and Kylo Ren! Right? Right??

Pure utter shit and a giant FUCK YOU to all Star Wars fans who wanted the myriad of questions raised by The Force Awakens answered. They got....nothing. A giant middle finger from Disney.

Oh - and the brainless writer/drector Rian Johnson impressed Disney SO much that now he's going to do three more films! Can't wait for those, right? Right??

It would have been so different if they introduced Luke into "The Force Awakens" maybe just over halfway through, he meets up with Solo etc. He then see's Solo get killed and the old "hero" Luke comes back and sets us up nicely for "The Last Jedi" and from there gives Rey all the teaching she needs to take the next step, especially with an aging Luke. Without being a cunt to begin with... Instead he does't even see Solo which for me what was missing in "The Force Awakens".

That opening scene when he throws away the lightsaber after ending "The Force Awakens" with Rey handing it over. To then sit down and see that idiotic scene just made me think "ok Disney have fucked it already"...

Fin and that other chick, would anyone have missed either character had they not been there ??

I got the few funny parts in the last movie, this one however just seemed desperate to find them some lines to have in the movie...

Yeah all we got was 'Where's Han?' from Luke. No grieving, no reaction, NOTHING. WTF was that?

The entire Fin/Rose thing was what I call "Give them something to do". It's like when in the prequels they had Obi Wan go off and fight General Grievous because Obi Wan needed something to do. The Fin/Rose thing was a total waste of time. And DJ (Benezio Del Toro)? They never explained the rose on the lapel, was he really the one they were seeking? Was he a good guy/bad guy? In the end, he is just a selfish dick whose betrayel cost lives. He didn't end up saving anyone like Han did in A New Hope at the end. So what was DJ's purpose? Totally fucked plot and answered ZERO questions from The Force Awakens.

Snoke? Who is he? Is he stronger than Emperor Palpatine? Is he stronger than Darth Vader? Nope - kill him off so the spoiled brat Ben/Kylo Ren can be the new Supreme Leader? You gotta be fucking kidding me.

Who in there right mind would make the decision to finish Luke like that?. Just have an epic light saber fight with Kylo and Luke dies. A proper heroes death and you also make Kylo like badass for the next movie. Just dont understand it

Let's face it, the only "cool" thing about kylo was the voice when he had his mask on. The fact that they made him smash it up within his first couple scenes just adds to the Disney fuckery... :2 cents:

Not that I take pleasure in saying it, but I bet they wish they just killed off Leia the way it looked like she was about to be killed off anyway. It actually looked pretty cool to begin with, yet they make her do so Harry potter shit, save her, yet now she has actually passed and won't be in the next installment.

Could anything else have gone wrong for Disney with this movie ? Aside from the shitload of money they are coining it in at this moment...

I thought it was a great movie! Although, it looks like their will be a ton more lol.

I think if you went into it without thinking about it too much it was probably more enjoyable. But for true Star Wars fans who needed answers (demanded them) from The Force Awakens this film was a slap in the face.

By all accounts it's anti-legacy, and thus anti-white.
