Not at all. It's core is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions AND make it economically feasible, maybe even profitable, at the same time.

Climate change can make bad situations like wildfires worse because it can mean less rainfall than normal. Less rainfall means dryer plants, which are easier to burn.

Weather and Climate aren't the same thing. There will always be freak heatwaves and rain storms etc, and people will point at that and same "climate change", but they're wrong and that's not how it works.

Climate change is basically 2 things: 1), The average temperature of the whole world, and the changing duration of seasons because of the change of the average temperature.

We don't really see these changes happen before our eyes because the time frame is too slow. But measurements of all kinds of factors, taken over many many years, point to the fact that the future is not as good as we wish it would be, and the damage that can cause can be more expensive to fix then the cost to fix it now. And if there's opportunities to fix it now, it can be a huge benefit to the economy too.

If you look back at the Earth's history...you will see that both warming and cooling can happen at VERY quick rates.

The Earth has heated up fast before. And it has cooled so fast before that Dinosaurs were frozen on their feet in the middle of walking.

I have also pointed out over and over and over this FACT: The Earth has warmed up 0.74 degrees Celcius over the past 100 years.

That's it.
That's the big gloom and doom scenario.

The debate isn't whether or not the Earth cools and warms in cycles. It's common knowledge that it does. The question is whether or not we humans are having an effect on it. It seems reasonable to me that if we dump metric tons of pollution into the water, soil, and air and build massive cities made of concrete and steel not to mention the sheer number of actual people, that it would cause it to get a little warmer than it might on its own.

Sadly, we aren't going to know for certain for, potentially, centuries, as we continue to gather reliable data. I don't support things like carbon taxes and shit that is just designed to take money from one person and give it to another without actually changing anything, but I think it is in our best interest to operate under the assumption that we have an effect on the planet and therefore should try to figure out ways to minimize that.

Sure the "average" (fudged and adjusted) temperature is rising but so far it has not risen outside of the bounds of natural variability - or even beyond the margin of error for the measurement taking.

Sure the sea levels are rising but they have been rising at the same slow and steady rate for the past several thousand years. Nothing new to see there.

Sure Arctic sea ice extent is down but Antarctic sea ice extent is up. But that is just based on the last 40 years of satellite observation. 40 years of observation isn't much to go by in the grand scheme of things. Regardless, the polar ice caps aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

You can call Donny and his appointees "deniers" all you want but overall I think he will do less damage than the knee-jerk alarmists have done and will continue to do.

Climate change is real and has been happening since the beginning of time. No one knows the exact cause and its a waste of time to worry about it. It will happen if we like it or not. No amount of recycling or stupid shit like that will change anything. Maybe if the population were to drop by half, but other than something drastic like that there is nothing that will stop climate change. It a part of nature and there is no stopping it.
