You've got bladewire the paid shill and his 40 fake nics that prop up half the post count.. Then the rest are from people genuinely sick with trump fever (yes it's a real thing) and cannot help themselves.

You people do realize time is money? Does is tickle your fancy to keep wishing Trump doom all day? Because lord knows your campaigns are seeing huge demos and returns here.

I pay people to save my time.. Time is the most valuable asset we have. Anytime I do any business the first thing I do is look at my schedule and account for time.

I used to peruse GFY daily... I opened a thread recently about putting some backup designers on the payroll and I got 4 responses. Of coarse one was Zuzana, even though I specifically requested no outsourcing agencies.. Another response was Yuu.. Which again Im pretty sure he hires out these days as well..

What the fucking fuck? Even just two years ago you'd have 15 designers reply the first day.

I agree but it wont change very much until it is not worth it to run it. all good things must end and eventually the GFY for many people. I hope it lasts for a long time even after I'm done.

I love GFY too and it's sad to let it go.

I took a break for a couple years after my pops passed. But things were still ok when I came back. So much butt hurt simply because Hillary didn't win.

GFY is dead, because this business is dead for the bulk of the people who used to post here..

GFY is a clear example of why trickle down economics doesn't work.


Before, the industry wealth was spread out among thousands and thousands of webmasters, program owners and service providers. GFY as the example of the economy was booming lots of traffic and posts. The wealth was spread out so everyone could get a piece of the pie, some larger some smaller but all could sit at the table.

Then came trickle down economics where a few big players managed to take control of most of the industry. Suddenly affiliates were no longer needed as the industry was now controlled by a few big players who squeezed others others out then consolidated their buying power which resulted in less service providers.

GFY Asa example of our economy came crashing down as those thousands of affiliates and service providers no longer had a reason to be here and the big players don't need to be here.. At the start it looked great, these big programs were pushing out $50 sales and all kinds of stuff, but it didn't last it was used to knock the remaining small guys out.

Now all that is left, is whatever people will talk about.. Which is usually political stuff..

The powers that be know if they kill the political stuff the board will be dead.

Admins promised at least few things over the past 5 years that they did not deliver.

It is basically like that - if they promise some forum feature, it is 90% chance they lied (aka promised without intention do keep the world).

Then they should not say "x will be implemented" and say "we will ask owners to implement x".

OP, when was the last business topic you started? If all the people that complain about the BS topics started business topics, we wouldn't have this problem.

I would like that too, I'm not interested in politics unless it has business impact.

5 days ago when I tried to locate some permanent backup designers for work.

In that thread I specifically stated I was looking for individuals and not middle men who just hire outsourced work.

2 out of the 4 who were interested in long term work were middle men who just hire outsourced work.

That was my one and only caveat btw.

What do you do in this industry again? I was under the impression you were in mainstream retail.

I do mainstream retail, now but I used to run a shit ton of tgps and blogs.. This board stopped being "just" porn 8 or so years ago.. you know when they added the whole "mainstream" section.. Perhaps if people could have figured out that "mainstream" isnt shitty dating sites then perhaps there would be something interesting to talk about here..

I'll let you in on a secrect.. back when I started on this board, I wouldn't even post here because there was too much nonsense and not enough business. I wasnt the only one either, it was a common thought even way back in 2003. The place was filled with useless posts back then as well.

You are missing the point though. Nothing will ever bring it back to a better mix of business topics as the business which created this board is now dead for the bulk of the people who used to be in it. There isn't even 1/10th of the people still doing porn as there used to be..

This is why there isnt any business related posts any,ore because the people still in the biz already have their connections sorted by now, there arent new people coming in asking questions and there arent new customers for content guys or designers. There isn't programmers making the latest tgp or traffic script or traffic sellers/buyers looking to do biz...

What is left is the BS and that's all that keeps this board hosted on servers. With out the BS, this place would not be here anymore because you'd be lucky to get 1 to 2 business topics a day if the format was changed to just biz..

IMO gfy missed a step when "actual" mainstream took over and porn died for the affiliates. They left the mainstream section to be over run with assholes posting dating shit in every topic so anyone who was interested in actual mainstream wet else where and get lost that ability to transition into the future at that point.

There were tons of posts back then asking for how to get into mainstream and all they got for replies was people spaming then dating shit, so those people went elsewhere so all that's left are people who stick around to bs..
