So someone scraped a bunch of thumbs from some of my sites
I know this is nothing new but I have never really noticed it before.
This guy copied a bunch of my thumbs and he is using them on is own site. They are not hot-linked - he is serving them from his own site. He has also copied my affiliate referral links with the thumbs and left them intact. Do I just leave it be and take the extra traffic? Or is there something else shady going on that I haven't noticed? Am I at risk of getting shit-canned by sponsors because of the likely shitty traffic he is sending? |
Depends on the sponsor, I would say
Why don't you communicate directly with them and ask their opinion of the traffic you're sending |
It happens. I had some niche blogs. Seemed like a bot was used to create quick sites with scraped content. Images all linked back to my blog. The site wasn't shifty, so I took the free traffic.

when he gets traffic. he change the links |
I've seen some load my site in a frame on their domain with their own money bar at the top. So I just put a framebreaker on my site so all the traffic gets redirected to me
