I'm not sure anyone could beat Oprah if she ran. If you thought Hillary garnered the female vote, Oprah would be off the charts. Add in the black vote and much of the DNC male vote and she'd be at an easy 60%.

i think that this scenario we will not see.

"midterm elections" are the magic words.

reps can either find a way to impeach him before that and have a chance to keep the majority in senate and congress or play lottery and risk their majority.

i think politicians are not willing to play lottery with their faith.

It depends on the size of the defeat (or win). If they win by 3% more than expected, or, like Alabama take back a few "strongholds" then he'll spend the last two years defending himself and probably not run for a 2nd term.

If they merely take the house by a little, then no impeachment will happen.

If he gets his approval to strongly supports 38% and overall 50% by November, republicans will keep the house.

If there is truly a "wave" and the house goes over by 50 seats to democrat, he might be impeached and removed successfully but I doubt it.

the risk to loose is very very high when trump is still the leader of them (as you have seen well in alabama).

if they are losing high - than even the democrats (with the help of some angry reps - and there are a lot of them) will impeach him.

on the other hand: if they get rid of him before the mid elections they do have a chance
to keep their seats because than it is not an election for or contra trump (what they will hardly win) than these elections are between reps and dems.
