This is brilliant

Next week I'll be stuck in San Fran all day while my kid attends a college event. I wish there was a place I could just hang out and plug in and work remotely. Turns out San Francisco has what is called "privately owned public spaces" where you can just walk in and plug in. One of them is at the new Linkedin building.

Turns out they also have cafes built for this...

Do they have non libby colleges in SF? Just curious is it 100% indoctrination area or something like 90%.

There have been a few of those popping up around Portland recently. You can either rent by the hour, day, week, or month and you can get anything from a single seat to a private office or a conference room. I haven't used one yet, but they look pretty cool and offer a nice, full-service office for a few bucks.

You'll have to tell us how it goes.

They've had these for about 20 years overseas, they're called internet cafes. Or am I missing something in these are different? Very cool regardless :thumbsup

I've never been to an "internet cafe" other than once in Mexico. I've never seen one in the United States.

There are also lots of work spaces for office use you can get. They usually just charge by the hour and you can get a desk and Wi-Fi connection. I use them from time to time.
