Can we please have a political subforum or ban anyone who posts more than 1 politics post per day?
 

Next time you are thinking about making a minimally-informed story-du-jour political post, ask yourself what you are trying to accomplish. If the answer is you are just hoping to make other people feel bad, without changing minds or even sharing a unique perspective, please have some decency and shut up.

GFY used to be one of my favorite places to interact online.

I visit GFY less and less and post almost never these days.

The relentless political threads, many from paid posters who are not even in the industry, are just pretty unbearable at this point.

It is boring, unproductive, and unhealthy for anyone to wake up every day freaking out about macro events they can't impact.

If I wanted to have a bunch of unbelievably tedious mainstream water cooler conversations, I would have just gone the corporate cubicle route.

It would be nice if GFY did not support this clownish pseudo political nonsense. Can we please have a political subforum or ban anyone who posts more than 1 politics post per day?

Do you mean makes more than one thread, or posts more than one post of a political nature? replies are considered posts.

It does not matter if the thread is non-political or not. In almost every thread, someone will somehow bring politics into it whether the original topic was political or not.

Good suggestion. Those Clinton supporters are spreeing forum with tens of political threads daily! Trump supporters also add their share, maybe around 10-20% of the whole pie.

I'd be fine with it, if the stuff from the content subforum were in the main forum. I've done thousands of dollars worth of content business with GFYers.

It's mainly a few posters that have what is known as TDS / Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Biggest offenders are Crockett & Bladewire. Just look at how many Trump threads they have littered on the front page.

My point is that none of us are posting politics in any other section of GFY other than the Fucking Around & program discussion section. Politics is what's going on right now unfortunately.
As I've said before here I have no problem with a politics section I'm fine with that and would honor that but the fake nics are the ones that will work politics into every post they can here and they have no repercussions because they are fake and when deleted the alt-right hate troll gets a new fake nic, he's done it here over and over again when his nics get banned.

There has always been a business forum, it's called Adult Q and A.. The main forum was always bullshit, but they allowed biz postings because it was the most popular section and more people visited it. Due to people using the fucking around area for biz, it never allowed the Q&A section to take off back then.. however its full of biz topics now, but some people cant seem to look past the front page so to speak..

I don't think the Q&A was supposed to be the Business forum. It is a teaching/learning forum for getting help with various aspects of the Adult Online Business.

This forum is not just the "Fucking Around" forum, it is also the "Program Discussion Forum". Program as in Sponsor and Affiliate Programs, which at the time GFY was born was the main business being discussed. Websites, Traffic, Sales.

I would hate the Q&A to end up filled with Program announcements and Business Spam, that belongs here.

Yeah, but to be fair the program announcements and biz spam were directed mostly at affiliates back then and the affiliate model is mostly dwindled to nothingness as have the affiliates..

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before that I voted for Bernie Sanders in the primary and Gary Johnson in the general. The fact that I have felt repeatedly challenged to mention this on this forum, and fake nicks still post stuff like that, is exactly why less business and less social fun is happening here and from here.

Regardless, this is an owned forum, so the owners must find some value in the ranters even when they begin to drive away legitimate business discussion.

However, I will say that I and many other said the same thing about the bitcoin posters when bitcoin was at $1. They told us how it would X, and Y, and Z, and we told them to shut up and go away. They had the same annoying evangelistic air and tendency to post over and over again in broken English.

They were right, and we were wrong. Bitcoin, regardless of what you think of it, is now firmly fixed in the public mind. Perhaps this is the new politics, the politics of the pre-civil war world, where everyone must declare a side. My view?
