A question for Baddog

I've suddenly started listening to old music from the late 1960s and the 1970s. I am guessing this is your generation. What music do you recommend I listen try out? I've been listening to a bit of everything from the Jackson 5 to the Raspberries to KC & The Sunshine Band. I like anything happy and upbeat.

Thanks in advance.

Judging by what you have listed I think it is safe to say that we have entirely different music styles. That being said, just like I am sure I can find the right beer for any palate, I am pretty sure I can find some happy and upbeat songs you might like; then we can proceed from there.

I saw the Turtles above but this Turtle's song has one of the best Rock Lyrics ever written:

"Elenore gee I think you're swell
and you really do me well
you're my pride and joy et cetera"

Maybe what you could do is lookup top hits from each year?

When I want some 70's, I'll usually listen to Electric Light Orchestra, Pink Floyd, Supertramp, BeeGees (Yes, Beegees!), Emerson Lake and Palmer, Kool & the Gang, Parliment, Lynrd Skynyrd, etc.

The only thing I would really listen to from the 60's might be the Beatles and of course, The Doors. There's nothing I listen to from the 50's and earlier. I tried listening to old Blues from the 1940's but just can't get into it enough. John Lee Hooker and Ella Fitzgerald excluded.

Regardless of what anyone says, just pick an era and start exploring. I'm sure you'll find something you really like.

I'm still trying to find some topless pictures of you on JFK's site ...

Honez 01-24-2018 01:38 PM

Some Canned Heat for those times you're a bit chilled....

mikesouth 01-24-2018 05:33 PM

60s and 70s thats when music really was good theres way way too much to list even if you discount the music that has transcended the time like Led Zep, The Stones, even Deep Purple. You cant go wrong with bands whose members went on to fame elsewhere later on like Derek and The Dominos, The Buffalo Springfield, The YardBirds, CSNY....
