I'm aware of this "issue". IMO Poland is 70-80 % right, Israel maybe 20-30 %. These were
NAZI camps, not camps constructed by Poles where Jews were sent. Camps in
OCCUPIED Poland by Nazis, where the daily life was EXTERMINATION and GENOCIDE of casual Poles, not only Jews.
Israel forgets that actually their country was "built" after WW2, and Poland - rather opposite, ruined and devastated. So however funny it says - they are kind of "winners" after that. In NAZI camps died not only Jews. Also, so many of these Jews were actually Poles, as they had Polish citizenship. And no, Poland before WW2 never gave special "marks" to its own Jews like Nazis (at least - not on the same scale...various pre ww2 had various attitudes toward Jews, some of them bad, never nothing as bad like in Nazi germany tough). Actually, if I think about it more, it seems that Israel is even more stupid in what it says than I thought before. So many Jews died in nazi camps located in occupied Poland because...Poland had one of the biggest Jew population that time (in Europe).... ! Plus it was "easy" to transport there all Jews and other "subhumans" from other "subhuman" countries like USRR etc. Once again - camps constructed by nazis, where not the only Jews were sent.
However, what Polish side forgets is the fact, that Jews were discriminated in pre WW2 Poland (but not on government side, but social side), and many Poles are "not neutral" to Jewish cause, to say at least. Also, in some years before ww2 Jews were indeed discriminated, not only socially, bt also on government level. So this is where that 30 % of Israel "right" lays IMO.
I think this issue is more embarassing to Israel than Poland actually.
FUCK, the more i think about it, the more I conclude that's like being drowned in martyrology -which is speciality of both Israel and Poland.
BTW. Really not sure how it is connected to praising a guy that murdered 5-10 % of his own nation and fucked up mentallly Russians for generations...Maybe I'm blind and stupid, please elaborate:winkwink::winkwink:
