Hosting 2018

Would love to get a point in the right direction of some good hosting companies for adult sites. Been with the same company for a very long time and would love to talk with some new companies and see whats out there in this day and age. Who are the best and upfront with all that is involved?

Thanks
Brandon

You have no shame. :)

I had a feeling i was going to see mojohost several times.

Anyone know about CaveCreek? They have contacted many times over the years for our business.

Since we have been doing this for almost 2 decades now its overwhelming to think about moving. But I am feeling like in order to grow right now we might need to.

Just would love to find a company that understands all that and can really be upfront and guide us through the best options.

Sincerely,
Brandon

We did a massive move about 18 months ago from Natnet to Mojo. Brad and his team were excellent working with our team to plan it out well in advance. It went way smoother than I would have imagined. It was a daunting choice to move after 20 years, but it was worth it.

I made the move to Cave Creek a few years ago and after a few months of nightmare after nightmare that took them DAYS to correct each time, after initially denying the problems we're on their end, I switched hosts. My scenario could have been an anomaly but it was the worst experience I've ever had with a host in 20 years, nothing against them or any of their partners, just my personal experience.

Affordable SSD Hosting at 247-Host.com

:thumbsup

j3rkules 01-30-2018 01:34 PM

It depends on if you need a VPS, dedicated sever, or just a shared hosting account. If you have smaller sites then I would recommend 247Host since they are really good and affordable. Take a look at my signature for a discount. Best of luck.

Hi Brandon,

I'm around for the rest of the day and would be happy to discuss your needs with you.

What's a good way to contact you?

Yes you were in the same situation as we are and have been. Talk about losing sleep over what to do and how to move when you have been building and running your business for soooo long. We have so many domain, subdomain, databases, scripts. Its going to be a big job.

Thanks for the info.

MojoHost's staff are professional movers, the team has performed hundreds of complicated migrations over the years and I am confident you'll be satisfied with the service, support, and performance. I'll be glad to draw up a personalized offer that tailors to your specific needs and requirements. Please get in touch via any of the methods in my signature. I'm confident you'll not regret going with Mojo.

phil-flash 01-31-2018 09:35 AM

Vacares! Sly is here on the boards... not a representative like all the rest. They moved all 20 plus of my sites, walked through each one with me to make sure it all worked, and thier support ticket time is 0 to 15 minutes. I got brand new hardware and saved money by making the jump. It?s really not a jump with these guys, it?s more like a hop. :)

This is my third and last host... it should be your last host too!

I recommend Vacares!

Brad Mitchell 01-31-2018 08:10 PM

Well Phil, I still post here! lol

Sly does a fine by his clients and I am happy that you landed there. Had your account rep at Mojo not mishandled following up with you, you never would have left. There was no part of your situation that wasn't easily remedied. It's regrettable, and we miss having your business. I am happy that you are happy with your current hosting.

Brandon, I'm not sure why you aren't counting us in the running for your business. We are exteremely up front, take a consultative approach and provide an excellent value at all levels of solution complexity. We have won every industry hosting award for the last 9 years running by for several reasons. We are client focused, always. We give a great value for price and are always creative to help stretch the value that clients receive. Many hosts try to solve problems by upselling other solutions and while sometimes this is necessary, most of the time good systems administration can achieve getting more out of your existing server.. In all respects, we are very high performance. Despite hosting more adult companies and web sites than any other company, you will not get lost in the mix, all clients are given VIP treatment regardless of whether they spend $10 or $50,000 per month. This is part of our core values.

With this as my 19th year in business, we still pride ourselves in supporting the industry more than every other host. I attend and speak at every conference, also donating time to moderate conversations on every subject matter relevant to our industry. I am on the board of directors for the ASACP, a contributor, and also a member of the FSC. These contributions are all possible because I have an amazing technical team backing me up. Like any other company, the biggest challenge faced is that we are only as good as our staff and humans all make mistakes. In the issue with Phil above, fault was with an administrative team member. At the end of the day, I take responsibility for this and as the business owner did everything possible to make sure that we learned from the situation and made changes to prevent such an occurrence from happening again.

There isn't a lot of an industry left still standing. I host around 700 adult companies from a field of what has been 2000+ since starting MojoHost. The primary difference between those two numbers is attrition, people leaving the industry. It's my position that we aim to back all the horses, everyone doing legit business, so that we can continue to stand with the winners in the future.

If you don't choose us, pick Nat Net, VAcares, Way3 or M3 Server. Everyone else simply isn't winning in this industry and is not committed to this industry. Feel free to call/email/Skype myself or Natalie with any questions-

Cheers,

Brad

Lots of good ones like national net and Mojohost.

Whatever you do just don't use seohosting or seowebhosting.. Same company with the worst support EVER

Denny 02-01-2018 03:17 AM

I heard only good things about Mojohost and Vacares. I personally use Way3, M3Server, Hostwinds, Hawkhost and a few others.

Brandon Michaels 02-04-2018 12:42 PM

What is the normal set up these days? Do you lease your server or buy your servers?

I have heard different prices and ways that people pay for hosting. Just not sure what to expect.

I just heard from one host that people pay $600 per month to lease 1 server. Is this the way it is?

We currently have 3 server, so we pay 3 rack fees + a fee for a set pipe for bandwidth.

Sincerely,
Brandon

There is no straight answer because every company is different and every client's needs are different. If anyone gives you a quote without a serious discussion and look at your set up, run the other way. You need someone that can look at what you have, what you might need and don't need, and where you are going over the next 2 years.

What we do is put together an assessment of your whole needs, then create a custom server configuration that suits your needs best. You might need 3 servers, you might only need 1-2, it's impossible to say without looking and having a deeper conversation.

For a client like yourself, I would not recommend that you buy your equipment. If you are the owner of your equipment, that means you are also responsible for it. The web hosting company is not going to have spare parts etc. Whereas we own all of our equipment, have spare parts, can upgrade you when needed, can migrate you when needed and then you are not stuck with hardware that you don't know what to do with.

Regarding your $600 question. Sure, some people pay that. Others pay $250. Others pay $900. It totally depends on what the server is, bandwidth required, backups, CDN, etc.

I will be around all day if you are available to discuss. Skype: limpgringo
