The all-electric concept had only ~60 miles of range, which was lacking compared to other models already available

Yeah... that'll sell :1orglaugh

The concept bike is 4 years old. Range is increasing all the time, and recharge time is dropping.

There's absolutely no need for it at all, except to feed the ego of the buyer. A shit-ton of time and money is spent on the "Exhaust note" of some cars to get "just right" - I suspect the same when it comes to Motorcycles. Some people just want that specific sound. Which is fine! It's not needed, but its what people want, so thats ok.
However that being said, I know what you mean and understand it too. I've owned all kinds of Firebirds and Camaros. One of them was a 1989 Firebird "Formula" with a V8 engine with a Carburetor as opposed to fuel injected. To me that had the nicest sound. V6's just never sounded as good.
Today though, I prefer the sound of silence.

hey Mark, show us your muscle car again. let us know how many miles per gallon you get with it.

My last muscle car was a brand new 2013 Camaro 2SS RS 1LE with a 560HP V8, and it cost me almost $400 a month in gas. Of course I didn't buy it for its economy, but since I got only about 400 kilometres on a full take full, that meant I was paying $1.00 per kilometre to drive it. Yikes.
I sold it in 2014 and bought a Chevy Volt.
The last time I put gas in my Volt was October 2017. I've driven just over 40,000 kilometres on it so far, and 37,000 of those kilometres were electric. It costs about $30 to fill it up (it's a small tank at 35 Litres (about 9.3 Gallons), which gets me about 580 kilometres on gas-only.
So just roughly, 40,000 kilometres cost me about $155 in gas, and about $185 in total electricity, or about $0.0085 per kilometre. Keep in mind though that Quebec has the cheapest rates for electricity in all Canada. Places like Ontario would cost more.
Anyway, I get the allure of a big freakin' V8. I loved them, and still do. But that's all it is, is allure. When you step on the gas the roar in your ears & rumble in your seat combine to give you a nice hard-on. But that is a really, really expensive way to get a hard-on.

I like the smell of pot. I don't like the smell of car or motor cycle exhaust. Sorry.
