SpaceX to launch the Falcon Heavy tomorrow 1pm est

Its the most powerful rocket in the world with 27 engines and 5 millions lbs of thrust. It will carry a Telsa roadster into space.. Musk expects it to fail as the only way they can test something this big is to launch it so tune in for the fireworks..

I just saw a news report that stated the rocket was on course for an orbit around Mars ?

crockett 02-06-2018 02:38 PM

The launch was successful, here is the full launch and landing. The landing is fucking epic, go to about 43 mins. Side by side booster landings.

Btw the Tesla he sent into orbit, was playing David Bowie, what a tribute.

That was a fake news story put out there lol

"The rocket carried a playful payload: Mr. Musk?s red Roadster, an electric sports car built by his other company, Tesla. Strapped inside the car is a mannequin wearing one of SpaceX?s spacesuits. They are expected to orbit the sun for hundreds of millions of years."

The spacecraft will journey through Earth’s Van Allen radiation belt over the coming hours. If it succeeds, Mr. Musk’s sports car will head away from Earth onto an elliptical orbit around the sun that extends as far out as Mars’s orbit.

Thats a fucking huge orbit ?

It will go close to Mars during its orbits and may one day actually hit Mars according to Musk, but not actually orbit Mars.
